A common example is " νμ΄" being pronounced as "haet-eo" as individual syllables, then it is usually followed by the whole word pronounced as "haesseo."
Is that a standard practice?
From what I've seen, in single syllable words, if the vowel seems plausible to be either /i/ (tense) or /Ιͺ/ (lax), and it is followed by a "r" , it always turns out to be /Ιͺ/, for example: "weird", "here", "near", "queer", "clear", etc.
Is there an exception to this rule?
