A list of puns related to "List of Basement Tapes songs"
I'm interested to know people's favourite basement tapes songs. Leaving aside the heavy hitters, namely - I shall be released, This wheel's on fire and Tears of rage, what is your favourite?
Mine is Open the Door, Homer. It's not exactly a hidden gem, as it features on the basement tapes 1975 album and take 1 is the first track on the "raw" version of the bootleg series, but I bloody love it. The G to E Minor chord change in the verses is delicious.

I am a fan of Dylan and had the incredible experience of seeing him perform two weeks ago in Chicago. Of his albums, Basement Tapes ranks among my favorites.
Today while perusing Spotify the band name New Basement Tapes caught my eye, and not knowing what to expect, I clicked on this song for a listen. Immediate captivation and emotional overload.
This is honestly one of the most incredible love songs I have ever heard. The melody has a wonderfully captivating undertone and Marcus's voice is beautiful yes... but oh, the lyrics!
The lyrics are 47 years old. Their purity can be summed up in the chorus:
"Now you know, Everywhere on Earth you go, You're gonna have me as your man"
That's powerful stuff. As a woman this song begs the question - where are the men who get, and I mean really GET this song? I don't want fancy houses and jewelry and private jets. Don't sing to me about that shit because life is not about things. It's about walking through life with someone...going down to the riverside...being held at night.
Simple, right?
In this totally made up scenario, imagine The Band never made their own career and those songs he wrote can be used too.
I feel like All You Have To Do is Dream would make a great second song on an album for some reason. The faster version. Definitely would want I'm Not There, I Shall Be Released on there too.
And end the album with his Magnum opus, See You Later Allen Ginsberg.
My List
Trilogy- Outside
Kiss Land- The Town
BBTM- As You Are
Starboy- Die for You
MDM- Hurt You
Just my opinion
On a whim, I decided to find all the songs that Bob covers on the Complete Basement Tapes, and put them into a Spotify playlist. I've strived to find either the original recording or the one that Bob is most likely to have heard it from. The only song I couldn't find any version at all on Spotify was 'Johnny Todd', but it is avaliable on YouTube if you want to hear it.
I learned a couple of things from this process- Bob's music taste is very wide and varied. He's got 50s DooWop, Hank Williams, Folk Ballads and Delta Blues, and he puts his own spin on every one of these. I also learned that he was a big fan at this time of Ian & Sylvia, covering more of their songs (or at least songs he heard from their albums) than any other artist on the basement tapes.
I haven't included any of Bob's or the Bands' original songs, as many of these aren't available on Spotify.
Enjoy taking a little look into Bob's 1967 music taste!

Just wondering what song you guys think really stands out as the best from The Basement Tapes! For me personally, it's "I'm Alright", a brilliant catchy tune in my opinion.
Hey Everyone
First of all, sorry about the wait. Have had a few things happening for me at the moment in my personal life which has distracted me, so apologies for that.
The songs through from the "Blood on the Tracks" album are:
Shelter From The Storm 24% (36 Votes)
Tangled Up In Blue 21% (31 Votes)
Idiot Wind was just three votes behind. Close race. Of course, it's very hard to have just two songs go through from this album. Like a commenter was saying, this is the kinda album that half the songs in it deserve to go through and would probably dominate other album rounds. Such is life...
Album sixteen is "The Basement Tapes". Please vote for your FAVORITE song off the album. The top two go through to the next round.
I have excluded the songs that Dylan didn't write.
Again, sorry for the absence, will be back in a few days for my second favorite Dylan album: "Desire".
Happy Voting
Mine is Goin' to Acapulco
As title says. Iβve got a few gems on vinyl but want to find a few more with all this free time some of us now have! Thanks

Figured some of you guys would find these interesting and wanted to share.
Yesterday we ran out of toilet paper and Clorox wipes. My wife started to panic, because stores are out.
I came out of the basement with a 36 pack of toilet paper and a 3 pack of Clorox wipes this morning. She just stared at me like some kind of magical being.
Itβs been a good day.
How many pages are in the book(s) it comes with?
Thinking about grabbing a copy as the packaging looks gorgeous and of course the music is amazing too!
I was extremely exhausted during my music session today, but here you go, a soft raspy voiced acoustic demoβ€οΈ Hope you guys enjoy! https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJoMP89S/
My suggestion: Echos in the Canyon / Neflix .. a documentary of music from Laurel Canyon (LA) in the late 60's. Very well done and fun to listen to.
