Found Dog Near Wilcox & Larry Drive. Found this handsome boy wandering the street last night on Larry Drive, he was shaking violently and seemed to be terribly lost. He had a collar but no tags and it's clear he has an owner and is taken care of. We kept him overnight and he will be taken to McKamey or HES today to check for a microchip. He's very sweet, small with pointy ears. A mostly black coat with brindle/white patches. If anyone knows who he may belong to please contact me!(https://imgur.com/gallery/CW8zS0z)

50+ Statements Made By JonBenΓ©t Ramsey’s Family That Turned Out To Be False

It will soon be 25 years since the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. In a shameless effort to promote our new podcast A NORMAL FAMILY: THE JONBENET RAMSEY CASE REVISITED, we have put together a list of false statements made by the Ramseys over the years.

In addition to the statements listed here, the Ramseys have said many things over the years which seem highly implausible, though are technically impossible to verify one way or the other, e.g. Patsy claiming not to recognize her own handwriting. I have not included those in this list, except when a credible eyewitness has testified that the statement is conclusively false.

>Interviewer: Was she hidden in any way? >John: (shaking his head) No. (01/01/1997)

Jonbenet’s body was hidden under a blanket in a pitch-dark storage room in the basement behind a latched door. Several police officers, John Ramsey, and a family friend, had all been in the basement that morning and none of them had noticed the body. She was hidden.

>John: β€œThe [basement] window stands wide open” (The Other Side of Suffering, 2012)

In 1997 John said he had gone to the basement alone sometime on the morning of December 26th, found the window open, and closed it. He said the window was open β€œabout an eighth of an inch” when he went down there. In 1998 he said it was open β€œan inch, maybe less” and β€œcracked and open a little bit”. In 2001 he called it a β€œpartially opened window” and by 2012 he was saying it was β€œwide open”. John now consistently gives the public the impression there was a wide open window in the basement. u/cottonstarr has documented the history of John’s changing statements on the basement window.

>Interviewer: What were you wearing, Patsy [to the Whites' party on Christmas night], a red turtleneck and black… >Patsy: Velvet pants. And I have a Christmas sweater I was wearing. >Interviewer: And that was over the turtleneck? >Patsy: Yeah.

Photographs taken at the party by Fleet White revealed Patsy was not wearing a Christmas sweater, she was actually wearing a black and red checked jacket. Patsy had not handed that jacket over to police. When she final

THE BUCKERSON & MEYERS SAGA (Written for Television) - Episode 4

CHAPTER FOUR:

FUTT'S FIRE (or) PEPPERMINT'S POTION

The Characters:

A High-Elf Wizard - Futt Buckerson

Orc Lady Cleric - Peppermint Pissy

Barbarian Warrior - Bobo Wilcox

Halfling - Hyphen Potamus VII

Wizard Crime Boss - Glasstaff

EXT. STONEHILL INN - NIGHT

FUTT, BOBO, HYPHEN, and PEPPERMINT are being led into the Stonehill Inn by GLASSTAFF and two of his Redbrand Ruffians, TERRY and LARRY. A few townsfolk hanging around the Inn back off when they see the gang approaching.

INT. STONEHILL INN LOBBY - NIGHT

The gang enters and approaches the bar. There is a short friendly-looking middle-aged man behind the bar, with a surly burly Bartender standing next to him.

HYPHEN:
Who's the manager here? Which one of you is in charge?

The smiling short man, TOBLIN, speaks up:

TOBLIN:

That would be me, Toblin Stonehill. How can I help you?

HYPHEN:

We have a show tonight.

TOBLIN:
Excuse me?

HYPHEN:
We're doing our show now. We have to set up.

FUTT:

(To the Bartender)

Hey, can I get a double tequila, neat?

HYPHEN:

(To TOBLIN)

Also, we're gonna need a green room. We need a place to lay low and do a little...

(HYPHEN taps one of his nostrils)

FUTT:
(Snapping his fingers at the Bartender impatiently)

Double tequila. Let's go. Double tequila.

The Bartender is just standing next to TOBLIN with his arms crossed.

HYPHEN:

(To a confused TOBLIN)

Buckerson and Meyers? Comedy show tonight? Know what I'm talking about?

TOBLIN:

Oh. This is my father's place. He must have booked you before he died in the fire.

HYPHEN:
I don't give a shit about that.

TOBLIN:
We have an empty room available. We can put you in there for a green room. And what was it you wanted, Elf?

FUTT:
Double tequila. Neat.

TOBLIN:
We have grog. So we'll just put you up in this room with--- (looking at GLASSTAFF and his Ruffians) And is Glasstaff part of your act?

HYPHEN:
No.

BOBO:

Glasstaff's on the list.

FUTT:
He's a fan.

PEPPERMINT:

He needs to sit like in the front row.

HYPHEN:

And hey, does anyone in this town have cocaine?

TOBLIN:
Actually, someone found a bunch at the Sleeping Giant.

FUTT:
That was mine.

TOBLIN and the BARTENDER both look unconvinced.

FUTT:
Can I get it back?

TOBLIN:
I'm pretty sure that wasn't yours.

FUTT:
It belonged to me and Gregg Meyers. Remember him? He was a big local boy.

GLASSTAFF:
Did you say Gregg Meyers?

FUTT:
Yeah. He was a good friend of mine.

[OC] What would all-time rosters look like if everyone went home like LeBron in 2015?

TL;DR

Made all-time hometown rosters with original 30 NBA teams + 25 new teams to split populated areas and big teams (spreadsheet + map)

Player Pool and Team Pool

I used the top 969 players who have at least 10000 minutes played in their career.

Why 10000 minutes played? Because that's the lower standard set by Basketball-Reference to get on their ABA career leaderboard (15000 MP for NBA). I added George Mikan, because even though he hasn't played enough minutes, he's featured in All-Time ESPN NBARank and Bill Simmons Hall of Fame Pyramid.

I started off with the current 30 teams. To split up the Lakers and Clippers, I gave the Clippers their proposed Inglewood site.

As I looked at the map of player hometowns, I realized that there were:

  • some areas that had a lot of players, but few close NBA teams
  • some areas that had bloated rosters with too many players

Based off city population and arena size, I added 25 new teams.

  • I obviously had to give Seattle their team back
  • Birmingham, North Little Rock and Shreveport helped to split up the South
  • Pittsburgh and St. Louis were big cities without teams
  • Berkeley added to siphon off San Francisco
    • if I add Oakland, it takes away too many players
  • Anaheim and Westwood added in Southern California (Clippers & Lakers)
  • Winston-Salem and Raleigh to pare down Charlotte
  • Lansing to prune Detroit
  • 2nd Atlanta team in suburb of College Park
  • 2nd Washington team and Baltimore
  • 2 more teams in Chicago (Rosemont and South Side) + a team in Gary
  • 2nd Indiana team + Louisville & Lexington
  • 2nd Philadelphia team in suburb of Wynnewood
  • 3 more teams in the New York Area (Newark, Queens and Long Island)

The Method

I started off gathering hometowns due to this fantastic database by Reuben Fischer-Baum ([original article source here](https://deadspin.com/infographics-where-do-pro-basketball-players-come-from-5132615

What drafting the "consensus" best player would have looked like for your team

Every year The Athletic releases a consensus big board (https://theathletic.com/2530534/2021/04/29/2021-nfl-draft-consensus-big-board-70-lists-one-ranking-of-the-top-300-prospects/ - requires a subscription) which attempts to create a consensus draft ranking by aggregating other draft boards. I decided to take this a step further and write a quick script to simulate what each team's draft would have looked like had they drafted the consensus best player available.

There are two columns: "Consensus BPA" which represents the overall best player available that could have been drafted at the given pick, and the "Consensus BPA (By position)" column which is the best player available at the given position that the team actually drafted. One thing that stood out to me is how absurdly close the Lions actual draft is to the positional BPA shown here.

Some things to note are that the board may have some oddities due to either players being drafted that were not ranked on the board, or positions being slightly different between the consensus board and where I pulled my data from. The displayed positions are pulled from the consensus big board, to help explain the naming here is an excerpt I grabbed from the article:

>A quick note on position designations: β€œWRS” refers to receivers that will primarily be tasked with slot play, β€œDL1T” refers to nose tackles, β€œDL3T” refers to defensive tackles with more pass-rush responsibility and β€œDL5T” refers to players that can either play 3-4 defensive end or could be either an edge rusher or interior pass rusher. This updated version of the list has also added β€œNCB” to stand for nickel corners who will primarily be expected to play in the slot. It wasn’t originally noted but, β€œRBC” stands for a change-of-pace running back β€” primarily pass catchers who aren’t expected to be lead backs.

This is by no means a perfect and I haven't gone through every team to confirm things so if you see any inconsistencies please let me know and I can try to fix it and rerun.

(Long Ass Post) Grading Every Danny Ainge Pick... Ever

This was shared here from r/bostonceltics

The last page of Danny Ainge’s book has been written and we can finally put his career into perspective. While some of his draft picks haven’t fully realized themselves, it’s safe to look back on his drafting career and evaluate how he did from start to finish. Some of my grades may be through rose tinted goggles as I’m very fond of some of these players and while looking back on the draft pick. Some of the things that will impact a grade are: Contribution to the Celtics, Contribution to other teams if they didn’t do well for the Celtics, players picked immediately after them, and a bunch of other factors.

Also, I'm counting guys Ainge actually walked away from the draft night with only. I know we technically drafted Lucas Nogueira, but then we turned around and traded him that night. Similarly, we acquired Rajon Rondo on draft night. So Rondo counts but Nogueira doesn't.

As this is meant to be a comprehansive list PLEASE point out anyone I missed so I can add them. Thanks!

2003 -

#27 Kendrick Perkins 6’10’’ C

5.5ppg, 5.8rpb, 1apg, 1.2bpg on 53/0/59 shooting over 14 seasons

Kendrick Perkins was the starting Center of the 08 seasons and played the perfect counterpoint to Kevin Garnett, grinding and bruising in the paint, lightening KG’s load. He was a staple of the roster for most of the big 3 era. It’s hard to ask for more from the 27th pick. He fell off pretty heavily after being traded to OKC mid season. He went from being spoon fed easy scoring opportunities from Rondo and being the mean side of a defense anchored by KG to not having any in an ISO heavy Durant/Westbrook led OKC offense and trying to play next to at the time NBA shot blocking leader Serge IBLOCKa. A

#56 Brandon Hunter 6’7’’ PF

3.3ppg, 2.8rpg., .3apg on 48/0/49 shooting over 2 seasons

Not much to see here. Ainge didn’t bother protecting him and he got taken in the expansion draft. D

2004 -

#15 Al Jefferson 6’10’’ C

15.7ppg, 8.4rpg, 1.5apg, on 50/12/71 shooting over 13 seasons

Al was a great pick at the time. His short time in Boston was still a time where back to the basket players had a place and so he was an extremely valuable trade piece and he netted us KG. Big Al rapidly developing into a guy who looked like a franchise player makes this a great pick for Ainge. A

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

I said "hey look, an escaPEA"

No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!

Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies πŸ˜‚

(Long Ass Post) Ranking Every Danny Ainge Draft Pick... Ever.

Thanks!

2003 -

#24 Delonte West 6’4’’ PG/SG

9.7pp
