I’ve been thinking about it for a while, and I feel like it’s been overlooked within the community. Wtf is up with Jake Layman?
Maybe I’m crazy but I feel like he’s shown a lot of promise in spurts offensively and defensively over the past two seasons, but it’s almost like he wasn’t available or wasn’t focused on basketball, especially within this past season.
He’s a exceptional cutter, and he is a better shooter than his percentages suggest. I just wonder what’s up with him.
I know he had a kid during the season so maybe that’s it and he couldn’t be 100% focused on basketball. Maybe I’m insane but I feel like he just deserved a lot more opportunity than he was given.
Anyone agree with me on this?
I was thinking about it because if he plays consistently we could possibly have another 3&D guy on a great contract if he ends up playing into the rotation baring a Simmons trade, or any trade that considerably shakes up the roster.
Wish he had made both shots, but then he would have had 4 points. I guess I'd rather him not take any shots and go 2-2 from the free throw line instead.
Edit: It goes further!! +- of -2, 2 fouls and even a game score of 2.2 !!! Layman with a near grand slam on the duos!
