A list of puns related to "Immunodeficiency"
As the title states, I've been on infusions for my primary immunodeficiency for about 6 months. "Primary immunodeficiency" means I was born with (not acquired) a medically proven, significantly weak immune system.
I also have moderate psoriasis. Topicals have never really worked, and that got me thinking.
Maybe this is a stupid question, but would it be safe for me to take a biologic? A biologic is one of the newer injectable psoriasis treatments they have out now. But they work by messing with your immune system. How exactly they do that, I'm not sure. But for those who know, would a biologic just counteract the immunodeficiency treatment?
The Immune Deficiency Foundation describes the situation as "a balancing act" among multiple specialists. With that said, does anyone have experience with immunodeficiency plus psoriasis that doesn't respond to topicals?
Immunity makes the antibodies against the material in vaccines so what about immunocompromised people.
Hoo, boy, this fundraiser took some time to set up (first messaged mods 20 days ago) but finally we're here.

Hi, I'm Ivan and I represent a private non-profit animal shelter in Minsk, Belarus. In facilities in Minsk it houses cats, at times up to 200 at once. We're very non-glamorous as a shelter in a poor country with not much exposure can be. It's all basically on the shoulders of volunteers who are titans, having to clean up, feed, perform medical procedures, care for disabled cats on top of their private and work lives and doing it year after year is real heroism in my opinion.
Funds are always very scarce. Several organizations pick up a couple of tabs but it's mostly donations and you know how far 2-3$ (what people can afford) donations go if you need to feed a hundred cats or provide expensive vet care. But we've been dealing for the most part.
That's where Feline Immunodeficiency Virus comes in. Naturally, in a shelter, we have lots of cats who have it. Before, they would just eventually die and there wasn't anything we could do. Now there's an injected drug. It's labelled like cheap tea and not super researched or approved but it helps! Super expensive though as a full course for one cat can run up to 600-800 Euro.
See, I was one of the major financial donors of the shelter and I made my vow to give away a substantial chunk of my income to them and this has been going on for some years now. I would've picked up the tab for what we require right now but alas, through COVID, internal struggles, and malicious intent even, my business is no more. But I am determined to assist still, that's why this fundraiser is set up.
We don't have the drug available in Minsk so we've been ordering through friends in Ukraine and Russia. After certain recent cough developments cough Ukraine is unavailable. So we have one precious girl in Russia who's running around buying this thing and sending it to us, our only source.
I've done a couple of photos with proof yesterday. Here they are:

The fundraiser initially lists two cats with FIV but apparently one other cat started showing signs of it and deteriorating quickly unfortunately.

... keep reading on reddit β‘If someone got SIV would it be considered a novel virus or a new strain of HIV? Would it get treated as if it were HIV or would it be untreated to study the natural history of zoonotic SIV in humans?
My girlfriend (who has CVID) and I are working on a short public research about how is Covid impacting the life of people with Primary Immunodeficiency.
As you can see (from a sample dashboard below) we gathered some data from 23 participants, but of course, there is not much use of it if we don't get more participants. I believe this groups are the best place to come and share such projects with and for zebras.
One of the answers we try getting from the research is if having Covid would give a more clear picture about the long/short term effects for individuals with PI.
We plan to expand the report and share it publicly with you and other online communities interested in PI. Here is a small sample to give you the idea how it's going to look like.
For all that are willing to participate, please find the survey here: https://forms.gle/AA1G1QXEKRtiymRD7
Also, likes, shares and comments will increase the exposure which should allow us to get more answers into the pool. Every ounce (grams for people from EU) of support will make us happier.
Thank you so much!π Take care! π₯°
What the title says. Thank you in advance!
I want to be as best of a support for my fellow classmate/friend as I can. They have a significant immunodeficiency that, without COVID, has been somewhat manageable and they started better preventative treatments (but still serious especially with COVID, vaccines do not work for this person as they cannot make antibodies). Moving forward, however, they are getting more and more anxious about working in a hospital and doing rotations. We are first years finishing up a virtual year, but will be back on campus in a couple months so that has been on their mind as well. Does anyone have experience with this? Doesn't have to be regarding COVID but just overall too. Thanks
I have an IgA and an IgE deficiency in addition to my connective tissue issues. Trying to figure out if there are others out there like me.
Which did you guys prefer
So Iβm a male, uncircumcised, immunodeficient and in the process of fighting with the insurance to get approved for immunoglobulin infusions.
Iβve been very sick these past several months and my girlfriend has pretty much been by my side 24/7. Since then, she put on a few pounds from stress eating.. As of late, Iβve had chronic yeast infections that pop up right after sex (1-2 days after). I get tested for stds way too often (my doc insists) and they are always negative. I know sheβs faithful but I agree to take them to appease my doc. My latest test was 3 weeks ago. My doc doesnβt want to give me an oral antifungal as he fears that it could be the straw that breaks the camels back in regards to my βfattyβ liver since Iβve been on a slew of steroids and antibiotics as of late.
My girlfriend is stressed, wants sex and hates condoms.. I was hoping to try lamb skin with her but I just read that disease can be passed through the pores. As mentioned, Iβm not worried about disease but can her imbalance (in the way of yeast) be passed just as an std?
*btw- sheβs also borderline diabetic and allergic to monistat which doesnβt help the yeast.
