A list of puns related to "Ice Hockey Hair"
Ice hockey in Japan started in the 1920s. Teams have been competing in the All Japan Championships since 1930, making the tournament one of the oldest sporting competitions in the country.
Professional hockey arrived in 1966 with the Japan Ice Hockey League. Originally a five-team league, the JIHL expanded to six teams in 1974 and stayed that way until tough economic times led to budget cutbacks and eventually the demise of the league in 2004. The 38-year-old JIHL was abandoned in favor of Asia League Ice Hockey which still exists today. Teams like the Nippon Paper Cranes had good success in hockey (until Covid lead to financial difficulties).
The cpu Jeff Lee makes so many bad plays I litteraly have to play defense just so heβs not on my team
Live in Manhattan and play hockey in Queens. Thinking about getting a cargo bike (probably electric) to get to the rink and back with my gear rather than taking the subway or spending a ton on taxi/uber. Looking for bike ideas.
Route is about 7 miles with a bit of elevation change when going over the Queensboro bridge. Bridge is a bitch on my road bike which is why I'm thinking eCargo. Not trying to go up that and then play a hockey game! Not to mention heading home after the game oof! Bikin takes about the same amount of time as the subway, buuuut I wouldn't have to take my hockey gear through subway cars and stations. Also, my bag wont smell up the subway on the way home. You're welcome New York lol! IDK if biking really make sense but its fun and trying to look at all my options. Interested to hear what you all think!
Hockey bag is 30" x 17" x 17" and sticks (x2) are about 6' long. Weight is about 20-30lbs depending on what extra stuff I bring.
Some lights would also be nice nice as I play late at night and would probably be biking home after midnight.
Maybe also a security system? I'm little worried about buying an $$$ bike and then having it stollen. I can probably lock it up in the garage at the rink and would keep it inside my apartment otherwise. Still thinking about security if I want to ride it other places. Any other NYCers have lock/security tips?
Any recommendations for bikes to look at? Thanks!
Been here many times. Great rink and still draws a crowd for Junior games. Turns 100 years old today. Too bad no games today due to lock downs. Hopefully there will be a celebration for 101 next year.
Some of the hockey greats called this ice surface home ice when they played Junior here β Gordie Howe, Terry Sawchuk, Kenny Wharram, and Bobby Hull.
