The game starts with you in a cave following a yellow bird to the outside world. you find a camp of other people who have escaped and they give you a grapling hook witch you us to turn on generators to power a railway(?) witch you would use to escape. I think there was a bit of lore that MC's parent we're taken to the island too. every level there are some collectibles you can grab for the challenge. the grappling hook works maily with momentum i think. it wasnt like the one from just cause.
I was looking up videos and information on the Hook Island Monster cryptid, mostly believed to be a hoax, and under this video https://youtu.be/BKCEEJOLAdA there is a comment by Andrea Brooks which some people think sounds plausible:
"When I first saw this image as a kid, I immediately thought: "Giant octopus." I saw the "head" as the octopus' mantle - which would explain the eyes being so far "back" from its tip, and the "body" being the limbs tucked together. The initial size estimates of 30-ish feet would also be consistent . At the time, I had no idea why a, octopus would "tuck in" to look like a tadpole - but the discovery of the mimic octopus, years later, brought the idea back to me. I'm not saying it's a likely explanation (and it doesn't cover the witness descriptions of it opening its mouth) - just one more "pulled out of ass" idea to throw on the pile."
What are your thoughts?

I've been searching for hours for a video or an explanation and all I get is "go into cave and grapple" and I can't find where to grapple.
Any tips?
Hook Island is one of the Whitsunday Islands off the coast of the Australian state of Queensland. The island is almost uninhabited, quite rugged and almost completely contained within a section of the Whitsunday Islands National Park. The island has two prominent geographical features on the southern side of Hook Island; the Nara and Macona inlets, two fjord-like recesses that are used as anchorages for the Whitsunday tourist fleet. The island's northern coast is noted for its colourful underwater coral growths, to which snorkelling and diving enthusiasts are attracted.
In 1964, photos were taken at the islands which circulated globally after what was believed to be some kind of sea monster was visible. The best known of the Hook Island Sea Monster photos is familiar to many (the two or three others are less familiar).
It features a gigantic, tadpole-like monster, supposedly encountered in Stonehaven Bay, Hook Island, Queensland, by Robert Le Serrec and his family and a friend during December 1964.
Robert Le Serrec, was a frenchman. His family had recently purchased a motorboat and had decided to stay on the island for several months. The family was crossing Stonehaven bay on December the 12th on their motorboat. While on the boat, Robertβs wife noticed a strange object on the bottom of the lagoon. How strange? Well, it was massive, 30ft long, and shaped like a tadpole.
The family started snapping pictures, and Le Serrec's first mate, de Jong, eventually summoned up enough courage to jump in the water with the intent of filming the creature. Initially, they believed the 75-80ft monster to be dead. But, they were wrong.
When Le Serrec got closer and began filming, the serpent opened its mouth and started moving towards them. Frightened out of their minds, they returned to the safety of their boat. When they got settled back aboard the boat, the creature had fled.
Le Serrec and those aboard also reported seeing a wound on the right side of the creature. They later surmised that the creature may have been wounded by a ships propeller in open or deeper water, and had decided to take refuge in the shallow lagoon to recover. Le Serrec also noted that the sea creature as having eyes on the top of its head (which many debunkers note is uncommon for most sea creatures). The eyes were pale with slit shaped pu

Sandy to Coney is under 7 miles, with the Romer Shoal light in between, round mile 3. I've found the currents in NY's Lower Bay to be unpredictable. Paddled to from Coney to Red Hook (8 miles) last year. Tried same with a friend this year and got stuck treading water (and discovered my packraft -- Alpacka Explorer -- probably handles better with myself alone, even with a bike atop.
Orient Point, NY to CT is about 8.4 miles.
Has anyone done it by packraft (or kayak)? Advice?
I chopped a tree at the edge of the foreboding and enticing forest at the end of the beach. I wiped sweat from my brow and took a glance at the height of the sun. I was hoping to finish a second shelter today, and it looked as though I might make it in time, given that there were no interruptions.
Just as I gathered what I deemed to be a comfortable amount for what I wanted to add to the roof of the shelter, I heard a loud rustling in the trees. I rolled my eyes and continued gathering greenery. The rustling in the trees bit got old months ago, but the island seemed to give it a try every few days. The rustling grew louder as if something was approaching. I grabbed all the sticks I had cut to a decent size from the ground and turned my back to the forest, Iβm sure to its disappointment. Until I heard the patter of feet coming out.
Human feet.
βHelp! Help!β someone screamed from behind me. I dropped all the sticks but one and held it defensively between us. It was a man covered in dirt, soot, and other droppings of the forest, still wearing a burnt business suit, and with bloodshot eyes.
βHey, back off!β I pointed the stick at him aggressively. βWho are you?β
βIβm Ivan!β he held his hands up in a show of innocence. βIβm just looking for some help! I crash landed here and am trying to figure out where I am. Whatβs your name?β
βYeah, nice try!β I screamed to the forest. βNot gonna learn it like that!β
Ivan turned around, confused, then looked back to me. He gave a forced smile.
βUmmmβ¦ okay? Are you a native?β
βNo, not a native. How long have you been here?β I asked, skeptically. I wasnβt believing his story fully, but I lowered my weapon to let him ease up.
βMaybe a week now?β he shrugged, uncertainly.
βI would have noticed if a plane flew out of the sky a week ago. Nice try,β I spat.
βNice trβNo, I crash landed by ship. I think I was the only survivor. Itβs off the south end of the beach. I can show you if you like,β he pointed into the forest.
βHa! Not a chance, Iβm never walking into there,β I laughed.
βOh, youβre afraid of the forest?β he asked. βThatβs understandable. Thereβs so much going on in there. It really feels like its own world,β he said, looking at it over his shoulder.
βIβm not afraid of it but Iβm not going in there,β I clarified.
βSure,β he said without a hint of sincerity. βSo you donβt have any way off the island, then?β
βNot as far as I can tell. I tried making a raft a couple weeks back, but thereβs no telling how

The post title says it all: I'm interested in meeting up with somebody local to spend some time with, maybe fool around with, or anything in between. New friends are always cool, so if you're not into the hooking up angle, that's fine too! I love going for walks, drives, generally exploring, and maybe a nice wine and cheese pairing? It's springtime so I'd love to spend some time outdoors.
I'm 32, single, fully vaccinated, and from the New London area. I'm 5'9", muscular build with the requisite (though actively shedding) layer of quarantine fluff. I'm naturally dark-skinned, with short black hair, brown eyes, and glasses. More than happy to send you a pic if you message me.
So, come say hi if you'd like someone to spend this lazy Saturday with!
My players will start next session en route to an enemy base they've been working on gathering information about. Their path will take them by an island that I haven't yet said anything about. I'm looking for some interesting plot hooks for this island that could serve as a 1-3 session side quest.
β’ I thought this could maybe serve as a pirate refuge, but I'm not sure where to go with that.
β’ I also considered having them come across another questing party (NPCs) who were trying to kill something inside the island or were after some treasure or something.
β’ I'd love if the island had some ancient mystery or power within it.
As rightful Kalban clay, those islands belong to us, not the filthy VKC and Onion empire. However, if we cannot own them, itβs preferable no-one owns them then. Therefore 2 nukes have been dropped there.
