However, I'm interested in what was going on inside his head: did he know about the details of his father's political creations, or did he care more about the romantic image of it and the military side of things? Was he a blind apologist of everything Napoleonic or had he started to develop something of an individual view? And was he fully aware of his exceptional situation and what was going on in France as detailed in the answer above?
Pretty much what it says on the tin. I've been reading up on political philosophy and the history of political ideology, but as an American, I simply don't have a good grounding in political or party thought and history in Great Britain, which makes it hard to know what being a Tory or Liberal or Whig meant 300 years ago, and so on.
I’m looking to transfer once I finish my A.A. my intended major will either be history or political science

I'm about to begin a philosophy paper in which I carefully analyze the arguments in a classic political) philosophical text. I'm looking for one that's not too-canonical (e.g. not "On Liberty" or some essay that has been evaluated every which way), and also complex and interesting argumentation. One that bears well for analytical philosophy is a plus. What are some of your favorite classic texts (or essays, or speeches, etc) that I might not have come across? Thanks in advance!

Shit is getting real. The DNC is desperate, Bernie is rising and California is a key state no one can afford to lose, but there’s nothing they can do apart from purging millions of voters as California seems to be in the bag for Bernie.
This is now a 2 horse race, let’s welcome all former Warren supporters that have had Bernie as their second choice and are now seeing that Warren won’t make it to the general.
Sucks when our candidate doesn’t make it, but luckily for progressives, Bernie is still fighting and he seems to be gearing up to a great start in Iowa.
