A list of puns related to "Habeas corpus in the United States"
Introduced: Sponsor: Rep. Henry βHankβ Johnson [D-GA4]
This bill was referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary which will consider it before sending it to the House floor for consideration.
Rep. Henry βHankβ Johnson [D-GA4] is a member of the committee.
I'm hearing scattered things about NY State suspending Habeas Corpus (for example: https://lawandcrime.com/george-floyd-death/aoc-slams-nyc-judge-for-suspension-of-habeas-corpus-in-response-to-george-floyd-protests/), but nothing concrete or coherent is coming up on news searches.
So what's up with it? Is this accurate?
It feels to me like we've been frogs in water being slowly heated to boiling. I know this moment has snuck up on me, but I feel like we're approaching the limit to what is acceptable government power.
Should habeas corpus be suspended, I will consider that a declaration of war by the state on its people. I will resist any armed state authority as if they were an actual enemy combatant.
This shit is actually real. It's why the 2a exists.
I'm wondering if any others feel similarly, or if some disagree and want to talk some sense into me.
It seems like it would be a right protected by the constitution, but itβs not

> Die Ausweitung der Rechte, die lange Zeit dem Menschen vorbehalten waren, auf Tiere wΓ€re eine neue rechtliche Grenze. Je mehr Wissenschaftler jedoch ΓΌber das Erkennen von Tieren lernen, desto schΓ€rfer wird diese Frage.
Ein breite Diskussion darΓΌber ist ΓΌberfΓ€llig.
