A list of puns related to "Grass jelly"
i bought both of these and am looking for recommendations on the teas/flavors they match best with!
(this is my first Reddit post ever so please forgive me if the format or anything is super weird)
I normally drink my tea unadulterated, but lately I've been in the mood for bubble tea ("boba tea" for you US west coast folks). Since I was at the local Asian market anyway, I also picked up grass jelly. I've heard of it being used in milk tea preparations but I've never actually tried it myself. Do y'all have any suggestions? I bought the smallest can but it's still quite a lot so I'll be able to make at least three different drinks, if not more.
One of my plans is jasmine green tea + milk + sugar + grass jelly.
I could also do a basic black milk tea + grass jelly but I'm down for experimental drinks too.
I also welcome any tips for balancing the flavor of grass jelly or just using it/storing it in general.
Edit: i don't plan on using regular milk cuz regular milk is gross lol. So i guess I'm also open to alternative milk suggestion
Where could I get soft grass jelly, like the ones you get at bubble tea shops?
Iβve tried a few brands that I bought from FairPrice, but theyβve all been of the harder, ice kacang type.
Thanks!
He does have a quite enjoyable and soothing voice but I feel I'm missing something, from my limited Thai he doesnt say anything too unusual? It reminds me of some of the old fashioned ads you see on the BTS sometimes where it is just a static photo and an old guy talking for a minute.
I have seen products containing βgrass jellyβ many times on store shelves. However, I never actually knew what it was. Turns out that grass jelly is a product that is created from boiling the leaves of the Platostoma palustre plant with a few added ingredients. Then the liquid that forms from that process is cooled to a jelly consistency. This jelly is used as an ingredient for other dishes and as a dessert on itβs own. Today I have a canned beverage made from grass jelly and will be trying it to see if itβs any good! https://youtu.be/O-9Zc2uhNk0 Thank you all for taking the time to read this. I really do appreciate all of your time. (:
My wife is looking for a very specific Vietnamese treat. We've found one place at Me Kong Plaza in Mesa that has something close. It's basil seeds in aloe water with grass jelly and other stuff mixed in. Sorry I don't know the name but I'm looking to surprise her. It's usually in asian stores that also serve boba.

Ok, I will say that Diet Dr. Pepper is very close.
Good lord! Did not expect to hit the front page. And now I understand when people say their inbox blew up! Thank you for all the explanations, though. Now someone can do a TIL ...
