A list of puns related to "GoldenEye 007 (2010 video game)"
Just like the title says has anyone tried it ? Would love to know how do you use mouse to emulate WiiMote.
Has there ever been an interview from the people at Nintendo or Rare about why they did that?
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 91%. (I'm a bot)
> There have been a surprising number of good Bond games over the years, but Nintendo and Rare's GoldenEye 007 stands alone as a groundbreaking achievement.
> Given the depth and complexity of GoldenEye 007, you might surmise that the game was a major priority for Nintendo and the game's developer Rare, but you'd be wrong.
> Development of the game began in late 1994, based on a pitch by a mid-level programmer named Martin Hollis who had just finished up working on Killer Instinct, his first game with the company.
> From The Dam to the Antenna Cradle, GoldenEye's single-player missions were mostly top-notch, but it was the game's multiplayer mode that elevated the game to classic status.
> Well, sometimes conventional wisdom ain't worth crap, as GoldenEye went on to become the third-best selling game on the N64. Rare turned down the opportunity to make another James Bond game.
> Despite the runaway success of GoldenEye, Nintendo and Rare never made another 007 game, which you may have assumed was because Nintendo cheaped out and let the Bond license lapse.

To elaborate if anyone doesn't know Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark on higher difficulties would add more objectives to be completed that were mostly superfluous but did add some difficulty to the gameplay. This was a very interesting and I feel a better way to make missions harder then simply adding more enemies or increasing their health/damage and I find it surprising that more games don't do this.
We all know that Nintendo will give us Super Mario 64, both Zelda games, Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64, etc. but could they get Microsoft owned Rareware on board? Iβm sure itβll take a lot of money to get M$ and Rare to put its original N64 IPs on the supposed N64 Classic. One can dream but is their any chance Nintendo could pull it off? I know Goldeneye 007 will be quite the task involving both Microsoft, Rare, Activision, and I believe Warner Bros. What do you think?

As some people noticed, RSDuck made a PR with an wip JIT recompiler (not yet merged). The video above showcase the gains in this specific game (one of the only games I have that don't run at fullspeed for me). In this game I couldn't find any new issue introduced by using the JIT.
In other news: Arisotura also made some nice progress on the DSi emulation, you can read the details in the official site ( http://melonds.kuribo64.net/)

So, Goldeneye 007, Modern Warfare Reflex, Black Ops 1 and Modern Warfare 3 still have online multiplayer on the Nintendo Wii since they run on Activision's Servers instead of Nintendo's online servers, which shut down in 2014. World at War ran on Nintendo's servers and shut down with other Wii games like Super Smash Bros Brawl and Mario Kart Wii
Goldeneye's Servers shut down yesterday. Does this mean that Modern Warfare Reflex, Black Ops 1 and Modern Warfare 3 will shut down with it on the Wii?
I know, I know. The graphics are the definition of muddy N64 visuals. FPS with 1 analog stick hasn't aged well at all. The split-screen multiplayer ruled for its time, using Oddjob was a bit of a dick move, and the photo-realistic faces stretched over jagged polygons is borderline uncanny valley territory.
I played the multiplayer to death as a kid, but never once played more than the first mission or two of the single-player N64 classic, GoldenEye 007. I gave this childhood favorite another try and played through the missions on the "medium" difficulty, Secret Agent. I didn't really know what to expect going in story-wise, as I've never seen the film...it's on my never-ending IMDB watchlist.
As far as pop culture video game tie-ins go, this didn't seem terrible, granted the story was already written with action/Bond fans in mind. Gameplay-wise, some things still rang true. Remote mines are still as satisfying to use as they were back in the day (shout out to remote mines in the bathroom of Facility, I'll always love you). Sneaking around an enemy bunker felt a little nerve-wracking, and going in dual-wielding guns blazing when I inevitably triggered the alarm was legitimately fun, even if that led to my ammo being nearly exhausted due to my crappy aim. Some of the mechanics were painful (precision aiming is a real bitch at times) and the poor draw distance of N64 days gone by meant that more than a handful of times I spun around 180 degrees to find out who I failed to dispose of as my health sank, only to be shot again by someone so far behind me I couldn't even see them.
All in all, I had fun for the most part! The various objectives force you to explore a bit, as opposed to the modern era hallway run-and-gun shooters (which I don't overly dislike by any means). I'll shamefully admit there were a few times I got momentarily frustrated not realizing I needed to find a key card for a locked door or something to that effect, but I quickly reminded myself that I've probably been conditioned to have a game hold my hand step by step, one glowing objective marker at a time.
It hasn't aged like fine wine by any means, but there's something about hearing that Facility music start up as I drop in unsuspectingly with a silenced PP7 on bathroom-going baddies that feels timeless.
Well, I feel like I should make something official on Reddit about some efforts myself and my team are doing to bring the iconic N64 game GoldenEye 007 into the quest. Rebuilding from the ground up is no easy task, but within a day i was able to accomplish enough to know its possible for my small team to do it.
We are starting on the level "Facility" because we feel that's one of most beloved maps for GoldenEye. Starting location will be in the air ducts as i matched the scale of the in-game air ducts to real world scale. So, yes you will have to crouch in the beginning of this level.
Locomotion is thumbstick. No teleportation. We will be sticking to the original as much as possible, including animations , textures, along with everything else.
Feel free to ask us anything about the progress and hurdles and whatever else.
I have play tested it already and it feels amazing to be in N64 world!
