I have had a bad run in with Eurocom in the past, sent the wrong card, sent it back at my cost (from UK, cost over 100USD!!) then they wouldn't refund me, had to go through my credit card, then they ask ME for a stocking fee.... anyway,
I'd like to upgrade the DM-G to a 1070, I know that time is coming to an end for my DMG as RTX is incompatible, I'd just like to get it capable of VR gaming. I have found a card on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GTX-1070M-Graphics-Card-GTX1070M-N17E-G2-A1-8GB-GDDR5-MXM-For-Dell-HP-MSI-clevo/274367331861?hash=item3fe1913e15:g:Lo0AAOSwxBhev4ml that says it will work but I'm obviously being cautious. Is there anywhere else, preferably in europe that could offer me something to buy?
Initially I went with Eurocom over china because I wanted to make sure a reputable company got the business. I had a better resolution when my current, 980m turned up and didn't work correctly from Aliexpress, than the way I was treated by Eurocom.
I would be erternally indebted to you for any help!
P.S P870DM-G - i7-6700k - 16gb RAM - 2x 1Tb SSD, 2x 500GB M2 SSD and 980m and I absolutely love gaming at home and abroad with work, I want to stick with Clevo.
The project seems to have collapsed after Horst G. Klein's death.
https://web.archive.org/web/20160313040431/http://www.eurocomrom.de/ <- was an actual course (I believe a compact version of the book) but with a lot of stuff missing due to unarchived links. Many interesting articles but too incomplete.
They published 2 books which I've just purchased on Amazon. The Germanic book die Sieben Siebe is only written in German (covering Icelandic, Continental Scandinavian and Dutch). The Romance version Eurocomrom is available in 7 languages.
https://eurocomdidact.eu - (still active?) some articles about the methodology - but unfortunately significantly watered down and applied to a flashcard app.
The lady who runs IElanguages made this about some books which also seek to teach multiple languages at once: http://edtech.mcc.edu/~jwagner5/comw100/project2
I'm looking for someone that might have one of these, and can dump the OneWire protocol data it feeds to the unit. I'm considering trying to make a nice setup that isn't insanely, price-gougingly expensive. I'd love to make/have one personally, if it's doable, and I'd love to share the DIY info with the community as well; it feels like just what the 51m and R2 needs. I just would like to see what specifically one of these feeds a unit to make it accept it as 'valid' - I already have an idea of what to go with, but after all if you don't HAVE to guess at what a functional wheel should look like, no reason to!
So, I bought this laptop probably a year ago and its been great to me. Never had any issues. I did buy it second hand though so there's no warranty.... Last night I was using my laptop at work and was playing tarkov for a bit. Tarkovs got bad micro stutters and runs like shit right now so I lowered the resolution on tarkov in an attempt to make it run better. I also lowered the resolution on the laptop display settings to match up with it. Then about 10 minutes later I was playing and I got one of those blue screen with a qr code things (which I forgot to take a picture of) but the blue screen loaded to 100% and got stuck there so I eventually hit the power button and it shut off. When I booted back up it was only displaying the entire desktop on the top left quarter of the screen and flickered a couple times before going black. The back light still works but the display doesn't work at all.
When I got home in the morning I was able to hook it up to my monitor to get it working. I went into Nvidia GeForce experience or whatever and went to do a clean install/ update of the drivers and as soon as it started the second monitor went black also. I let it run all day in hopes that it would finish the update but now I can't get my laptop display or a secondary monitor to work via the hdmi output. I know the laptops working fine cause I can hear it logging in when I boot it up... is this a gpu issue? Is it just a display issue? Motherboard issue?
Specs are as follows:
4k 3840*2160 LCD screen 4.2Ghz Intel core I7, Quad Core (Desktop Class CPU 7700k) 16GB DDR4 RAM 1TB SSD (Boot Drive) 2TB Solid State Hybrid Hard Drive 8GB Desktop NVIDIA GTX 1070 GPU WIFI & Bluetooth Windows 10 Home Thunderbolt 3 + usb c ports
(This spec list is word for word what the guy that I bought it from send me)...
Please help me....
Oh another note to mention is that when I was able to boot it up on a second monitor I noticed that I wasn't able to change the resolution really at all. It only had one option that wasn't too terrible but it certainly wasn't 4k or anything

Thanks in advance
..and I've already started the RMA process to return it.
-Much bigger than it looks in the photos. It is quite a bit larger than the already large 330w adapter. Not a huge problem as I would still rather carry this and plug into one wall socket vs two.
-Bulky splitter near where it plugs into the laptop, so it feels like it can be pulling pretty hard on the laptops power inputs.
-Almost $700 and they can't throw in the AC power cord with it
-Number 1 reason why this nearly $700 power brick is so disappointing: https://streamable.com/4pvtt
IT'S INSANELY LOUD
I can hear this thing on the opposite side of my house, while its only pumping out 40w and my computer is sitting on the desktop with absolutely no active programs. It is constantly making noise like this, there are no breaks in the noise.
I really wanted this thing to work and be a convenient solution to the two bulky power adapters that are required right now, but there is just no way I could deal with it.
Mobile Server Overview
Aย mobile serverย is a computer system that responds to requests across aย computer networkย to provide, or help to provide, a network service, while being easily portable in aย laptopย form factor.
Since launching its first Intel Xeon-powered Mobile Server in 2007, the Phantom-X, Eurocom has been building on its capabilities and improving on the Mobile Server concept with every new iteration. The most advanced Mobile Server yet- the Tornado F7 SE- is the most stable, capable, scalable and durable solution to date from Eurocom!
โMobile Servers allow users to expand into new geographic markets, gain new customers and secure new projectsโ Mark Bialic, Eurocom President.
Benefits of Mobile Server Technology
The EUROCOM Tornado F7 SE provides fast deployment right out-of-the-box, combined with easy relocation and no need for a server room. The ability to hand-carry the system makes the EUROCOM Tornado F7 SE an extremely easy system to relocate while providing server capabilities.
If a unit needs to be swapped out for any reason, simply grab and go. Most of the wiring required in rack mount scenarios vanishes with a EUROCOM Mobile Server.
Traditionally, taking a racked server to a customerโs site is problematic, and even tower-style servers are considerably more cumbersome. A EUROCOM Tornado F7 SE solution simply slips into a notebook carrying case.
A racked system still requires a keyboard, mouse, and monitor, which are often placed on additional trays within the rack in order to minimize the total hardware footprint. With Mobile Servers, these peripherals are integrated.
Conventional servers require attendant UPS capability rated for at least 10 to 15 minutes of runtime before shutdown. With the EUROCOM Tornado F7 SE, the swappable polymer Li-Ion battery provides many times this amount.
The idea of a portable server is appealing to application developers, emergency responders, on-site trainers and others who need powerful computing solutions wherever they may be.
