Golden syrup Puns

So I absolutely love the new golden caramel range, it's lovely in iced coffee, and would love to buy a bottle of the syrup for at home. But I cannot find the syrup. I know Costa tend to use Monin, but when I search, it comes up with the standard caramel syrup. I know it is not that, as the taste is different, kind of buttery and fudgey. Can anyone tell me what syrup is used? Or is it two different syrups used together?

I don't have any butter or sugar, but if I combine golden syrup and oats and cook them, will they turn into simple flapjacks or will they just fall apart or something?

Where can I buy the golden boba and syrup ding tea uses?

The boba we can get from our local Japanese market is usually the more common black boba but I prefer the golden boba.

For syrup, I tried the Torani peach, which is good, but not the same.

Lowkey though, a lot of the other Golden Girls dishes could be interesting to see if the log is too... log-gy: Sophia's classic Italian dishes like the salsa grandioso (which can only be made on the Night of the Dancing Virgins) and even more of Rose's odd Scandanavian delicacies like herring balls or Sperheoven krispies.

I’m making hot cross buns and recipe says to use golden syrup for a glaze when they come out of the oven. Can I replace this with honey? Where I live golden syrup is hard to come by and I hate shopping in a pandemic right before Easter.... thanks!

Hello. As I am in France, finding corn syrup for my agar plates is a bit difficult/expensive, but I do have cheap, easy access to Golden Syrup. Does anyone know if this is good for making agar plates? And if so, might you have a recipe to share? Thank you.

Anyone have recommendations on where to find golden syrup in SF? There are a few recipes I love to make and require it, but I haven’t made them in a long time since I can rarely find it!

People insist on putting syrup on a lot of different things, but I absolutely hate it. I think it tastes horribly synthetic and overly sweet. It’s basically overproduced honey with none of the benefits.

Edit: Golden syrup is made from cane sugar. It’s basically sugar and water boiled together.

I recently bought mooncake stamps from amazon and I really want to make mooncakes at home. However golden syrup and lye water are in no way available in my country. I think I can make the lye water at home, it looks pretty simple but then the golden syrup becomes a problem. Some recipes says that I can use honey but people on forums said that honey doesnt work. Do you guys know a way to make honey work? Or any other substitutions for golden syrup and lye water?

Whether it’s as a substitute to honey in a recipe or just something to put on your porridge, I’ve noticed that lots of people chose maple syrup over golden syrup and I was wondering why this is. Personally, I’ve always had golden syrup on my porridge and never used maple in cooking growing up (non-vegan cooking). It’s not like I feel as though I’m doing something wrong for choosing one over the other (unless of course it turns out golden syrup isn’t vegan) I’m just interested really. Is it a taste thing, or a health thing (because I understand golden syrup is literally just sugar so maple may have other things in it) or is it something to do with accessibility in other countries, I do feel like it’s marketed as quite a British thing, Lyle’s feels very British for some reason (but I haven’t really looked that much into it so could be wrong).

While researching pecan pie recipes, I impulse ordered a tin of Lyle’s Golden Syrup, forgot about it, made a pie with regular corn syrup, and the tin arrived yesterday. Now what do I do with it? I’m a pretty capable baker.
