Just bought vehicle a couple of thousand miles ago. Car was running fine up until yesterday, vehicle was really hard to start (just put in a brand new battery) and after the engine was warm it seemed to jerk when accelerating out of first gear. Car seemed to run fine but I noticed a lack of power. Vehicle canβt go over 65-70 on highway with pedal all the way to the floor in 6th. Car canβt go above 2500 RPM in 6th also while riding highway. Car can go above 3500 RPM in any other gear. Car has detailed notes from previous owner (they religiously serviced the vehicle) but I noticed that in the vehicle history report that the car never had its fuel filter changedβ¦β¦β¦β¦.EVER!!! Iβm visiting family up here in Indiana and I bought the car in Chicago.
Iβve done some research and it seems like itβs a fuel filter/pump issue. It was rough idling while stopped at lights too. In some of yβalls opinions, does it sound like a fuel filter/pump issue? I had the car checked out and everything else seems to be tip top. I donβt want to put any additives into the tank to clean it because I donβt want to fuck it up more. For those that answer, I thank you in advance.
Hi all,βI have 2017 Subaru Impreza, and according to the manual Iβm supposed to replace the fuel filter every 72,000 miles. I called a local Subaru dealership and they said that apparently the fuel filter is a lifetime filter and the manual is inaccurate. Is that true?
Anyone change the fuel filter on their Subaru?
Our diesel 2018 F20 has made 75k km so far. Engine oil and vehicle inspection are due for Feb 2022.
When should the fuel filter be changed? what about the air filters (engine/interior)?
I have a 2000 Toyota celica, changed the fuel filter in tank, now car wonβt start, when I then tried to check what problem was when I pulled the hose going to engine fuel was coming out so itβs getting sent to engine and the other hose when I pulled off has pressure so itβs getting back pressure, what could possible be the problem, I have checked the fuses, and donβt know how I could have possible installed it wrong , it just turns over but wonβt start
I have to replace my fuel line and it came with a in line fuel filter but i canβt imagine itβs getting anything my in tank filter already gets. Bad idea to straight line it to the carbs?
I got this awesome little guy recently - and I knew the guy selling it was being shady, but it was the car I wanted, within my budget and I knew the risks...
Totally abused, previous owned by the 'niece' who went to UCSB... so the car is filled with sand, poorly installed window tinting and poorly installed speaker wiring for a thumping system only a UCSB slut can pull off, but I digress.... (The only thing I didnt find in the car was a bottle of Fireball and a condom wrapper.... jokes on the latter)
It had been running rough, I had asked for any maint records, and when I was told there were none, but assured that it was well taken care of... Yeah I knew shit was up...
Anyway,
I replaced the plugs with NGK double plats (the AutoZones in my reachable vacinity didnt have the iridiums in stock, and the other options for what I needed as a test to see if it were the plugs was too expensive as a test ($16=4 plugs vs $60=4 plugs(bosch/NGK iridiums) (They only had two of the NGK Iridiums, and the others had none...)
I replaced the fuel filter (WAY easier than it sounds/looks - but still daunting cautiousness must be had to not spill gas all over your rear)
I replaced the fuel pump, harder than it looked, but still simple - just tedious and the videos available do a poor job detailing all the steps...
Replaced battery with brand new batt..
Ran injection cleaner through ~1/2 tank thus far...
Finally: I am still getting anemic starting; keeps "chugging to turn over"
Here are my next steps in providing a clean run:
I was able to get a new set of tires and wheels off a pic-n-pull mini... so I have 2 spare replacement doors, and 4 wheels and tires as a spare ($200 for all)
But what do about crappy starting? Once it is warm its OK, but fuel flow is either blocked or slowed by what can only be injectors, the tubes, or the whole fucking neglected engine.....
How to run "check engine" diag on thing?
I bought VCDS and understand priming the system. I need to change the fuel filter and wanted to know whatβs a good brand to purchase? I am a huge fan of rockauto and use the website faithfully for my 7.3 powerstroke.
I own a 2011 Jetta sportwagen
It's a 2011 hyundai sonata hybrid. I can't find where it would be on Google or in the manual. Also where would I order a replacement?
Where is it?? Every pic I have seen and its at he backside of the tank. I just took my tank out, I dont see any filter. What am I missing?
Ok so Iβve been ordering my fuel filters and water separators from Cummins/fleet guard and theyβve been sold out for about 3 months now.
I donβt have a lift pump, the truck is mostly stock. (Motor and trans are all stock right now)
What brands of fuel filters do you guys use?
