A list of puns related to "From Dusk till Dawn"
U guys might think I'm nuts or something but I'm thinking of finishing 4bc with starter kit...the normal bow, wooden shield and rusty sword....sooo...how,hard will this be? And oh! There's actually na achievement there too of finishing the game with starter kit, soooo am I doing it right? or can I at least use ice shield? With armadilopack,Ice shield is my "always must pick and keep" pick....and about the special weapons, which should I take? or am I supposed to not take anything like the owl or bombs or anything? Lemme know....oh! And also hope y'all are having a great n wonderful day/night so far \\{^w^}//
The first part of the movie was really really good and set up all kinds of potential.
What is El Rey? What would happen if Jacob Fuller (Harvey Keitel) realized they were being dragged into something they wouldn't get out alive. What would happen if Richard Gecko (Quentin Tarantino) started to become more aggressive towards Kate Fuller (Juliette Lewis).
The first half of the movie had me enthralled but the second half while fun killed the movie. It became a completely different thing and while interesting in itself (what happens if you insert vampires in a completely serious movie), I think the first part was SO good it just leaves me disappointed every time I watch it. It is the ultimate "what if" to me.
And yes I know they made a series about it, but that series didn't have the original director or cast members which was a primary reason why the movie was so good.
I've just got the CD of Metal Resistance and I really enjoy listening to From Dusk till Dawn but does anyone know why it isn't available to stream on Spotify etc?
Over the last week, I've taken a dive into Quentin Tarantino's most misunderstood work, Death Proof. The project, "double-billed" with Robert Rodriquez's 'Planet Terror', was always something that I avoided watching, me being more in favor of the earlier work from the auteur of the later westerns, which I believe to be better films. Not only did I watch Death Proof, but the interviews and questionnaires surrounding the films were incredibly fascinating and shed a far more productive light on the two watching experiences.
Having been born in 2000, it's safe to say I am not in the generation that would readily appreciate the particular cinematic style of these films, but I would lie towards the back half of the generation that this project was meant for. I've done minimal research on the concept of 'grindhouse', lurid films meant to be double-billed, screened in dingy theaters for a rowdy crowd of movie goers. In the times of COVID-19, this concept of a highly energetic film going experience makes me all the more envious.
I've certainly run into similar concerns trying to put my friends onto films like 'From Dusk Till Dawn', them not immediately seeing the artistic merit of these films, and me having to explain the films are "supposed to be shitty". These might not have been the best films, more often than not terrible by most standards, but that might just be the point. They aren't great by any sight, but nonetheless their existence influenced some of the most influential filmmakers of our generation.
To me, these projects are some of the most underappreciated love letters to cinema I've ever seen. It speaks to the power of film in all forms, even if it's an exploitative, semi-pornographic action movie. Someone like Tarantino, known for his homages and remixing, who wears his influence on his sleeve, can find the good in these films and apply them to some of his more "arsty" or "oscar-y" movies, and I think that is just beautiful. Two worlds, two "types" of films, both finding their validity in Tarantino's work.
Let me tell you something that dance scene was...phew, and salma was π₯΅ and Iβm a straight women like just....it was a good movie but that scene alone made the movie a 10/10 for me. Now Iβm gonna go hit the gym π.
Rodriguez' and Tarantino's 'From Dusk till Dawn' and John Carpenter's 'Vampires' conjure up images of a dry dusty blood soaked western. I love it when a double bill could almost be set in the same universe, think these two late 90s action-horrors do that nicely.
I can't believe I only got around to seeing this movie just yesterday. Instantly entered into my top 10 favorite movies of all time! You gotta go in blind like I did. This masterpiece takes the biggest left turn of any movie I've ever seen; it happens about halfway through it. I'm not going to say anything more, like I said: GO IN BLIND!
