A list of puns related to "Fox Sports Southwest"
I just switched back to Dish after becoming more & more sick of AT&T / Directv . I didnβt care that HBO was not available, but after install I have now discovered there is no way to add Fox Sports Southwest. Well my beloved Texas Rangers are kind of sucking right now, but I still like to watch a game occasionally. After just signing up for a new 2 year deal , I figured out Dish is in dispute with parent company that airs most of the Texas sports. Very disappointed!
Finally saw during the game today that Fox Sports Southwest will be making the change to Bally Sports Southwest starting March 31 so I thought Iβd put this together sharing the news considering most of us are unable to watch the broadcasts with Bill and Sean right now.
Earlier on in the season, news broke that the Fox regional sports channels would be rebranding with Bally and that there would potentially be some direct-to-consumer options in terms of streaming. Unfortunately, after reading recent news, it doesnβt look like much will be changing in the near future.
On March 31, it is true that FSSW will be switching to Bally Sports Southwest. That said, there will be no direct-to-consumer streaming options until at least 2022.
So basically, unless you have AT&T Now and happen to be in an area that streams the Spurs games instead of other (Mavs) games, you and I will still be shit out of luck. At least for the time being it doesnβt look like the major steaming platforms (YouTube TV, Hulu, Sling, etc.) will be picking those channels any time soon.
Additionally, even when the direct-to-consumer plans are released, Sinclairβs CEO was very vague as to whether or not they will include live games in their services, saying βI canβt imagine us launching next year without some amount of live games.β.
So, in the end, Sinclair Broadcast Group still fucking sucks. Even the folks over at CNBC were talking about them recently saying how much they suck (tried finding the footage but couldnβt find it, sorry). The only thing actually changing in the near future is how the Fox sports apps look. I would prepare yourselves to be streaming games for the foreseeable future.
Hey everyone! With every tv provider and streaming service dropping Fox Sports Southwest, I was getting confused with where the channel was still available. I researched all the providers and came up with a list of services and plans.
Here you go! Hopefully this is as helpful to everyone here as it was to me.

... keep reading on reddit β‘Hey yall, I just an email from hulu stating that on the 23rd of October they will no longer be carrying fox sports southwest. Since this is how I watch the stars I will be canceling hulu and looking for a new service. How do all of you watch on streaming services?
With the new season right around the corner I was researching what streaming services I can watch the Spurs. Turns out Fox regional sports channels have been dropped on all streaming services. Hulu, Youtube tv, and Sling(i think). Anyone know any other way to watch without having to get cable service or using NBA stream sites?
If you're like me and use YouTubeTV to watch Stars' games, beware that starting on 2/29 you will no longer be able to watch FSSW

/r/dallasstars is thrilled to host Brien Rea, FSSW host for the Dallas Stars, for an AMA on Monday, Jan 7 @ 2:00 pm!
Brien has over 10 years of broadcasting, communications, and design experience. He worked as the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Texas Stars in 2014, up until his role with FSSW alongside Brent Severyn. Before that he worked in radio and also called games in the CHL. Brien was a 2005 graduate of Lake Forest College in Chicago.
And letβs face it folks, heβs the most fashionable and dapper guy in sports journalism.
You can follow him on Instagram and Twitter. Start posting you questions now and come back at 2pm on Monday when heβll be here live answering!
Edit: Brien's here and we're live! (2:05 pm)
Edit: That's a wrap! We thank Brien so much for answering every question and doing so with such tremendous thought and insight! (4:07 pm)
Living in Austin, that was the only way I was able to watch them. Now it looks like they donβt show them regularly anymore
Really disappointed. I moved to YouTube TV this year after Hulu TV raised their price for the 3rd time. I was really impressed with it.
I'm David Ubben, and I write for Fox Sports Southwest. (Read all my work here). You can also see me on Big 12 Live on Saturday nights at 11 p.m. CT We spend an hour reviewing and debating the day in the Big 12. I covered the Big 12 for ESPN.com for about 3.5 years before jumping to Fox right before this season. Previously, I worked for the Columbia Missourian and The Oklahoman after graduating from the University of Missouri. Ask me anything. I've tweeted my verification (@davidubben). I'll be by to answer questions at 3 p.m. ET, but feel free to get yours in now.
Hello. I am sorry if this topic has ever been brought up before, but here it goes... Is there an alternative way of getting FoxSSW (Or Live Stars games in general) other than having cable/satellite? I have realized the only reason I even pay this FIOS bill every month is because I want Fox SSW for Stars games. If it wasnt for that one channel I would cancel and just use Netflix/Hulu. And going to a bar for every game is not an option. I have done some research on this and dont know if I am missing a way to make this possible. Thank you everyone for all of the answers.
> Cuban is working on a program that would offer Mavericks fans a $50 credit each month of the season toward DirecTV StrΠ΅am to reduce the cost of the only strΠ΅aming platform that offers Bally Sports Southwest, he told The Dallas Morning News. > > The Mavericksβ owner is still working on details, but he said the franchise would first offer season-ticket holders the opportunity and then expand sign-ups to the first 10,000 fans total. > > The teamβs broadcasting limitations arenβt unique to regional sports networks across the NBA, but theyβve drawn the ire of fans left without widespread access to Mavericks games since the 2019-20 season. > > DirecTV Stream β which starts at $84.99 a month for packages that include regional sports networks β is the only streaming platform that carries Bally Sports Southwest, the local provider of Mavericks, Stars and Rangers games. > > Since Sinclair bought the Fox Sports regional Networks in August 2019, YouTube TV, Hulu, Sling TV and FuboTV do not. > > Cubanβs plan would decrease the monthly cost to about $35, not including fees.
###Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. ET
This Tuesday afternoon we'll be joined by David Ubben (confirmation tweet), columnist and TV analyst for Fox Sports Southwest.
For three and a half years (2010-August 2013), Ubben wrote the Big 12 Blog for ESPN.com during what were tumultuous years for the conference as it nearly broke apart. Similarly, at Fox Sports Southwest he mostly covers Big 12 sports and appears on Big 12 Live on Saturday nights during football season.
Ubben is a graduate of the School of Journalism at University of Missouri and worked at several newspapers, including working as the OU Beat Writer for the The Oklahoman before moving to ESPN.
Join us and ask your questions!
NOTE: If you or someone you know might make a good candidate for an AMA, let us know or send them our way via mod mail!
This team just made it's biggest splash since 2011. MLB media and the eyes of fans are all focused on getting more information on these players, how they will be used, and what the Rangers plan is going forward. A press conference is not just a good idea, it's essentially mandatory.
So why in the sweet fuck is it locked behind an AT&T subscription to a channel that no other provider can give you?
The Dallas Cowboys broadcast every one of their press conferences on YouTube and Facebook, because its news. You want to get this information out to your fans, thats the entire reason to do a fucking press conference. If you're doing your press conference locked behind an $80/mo 3yr contract pay wall, you aren't doing your fucking job well.
The only way for fans who aren't subscribed to AT&T cable to get this information is to follow along on Twitter and rely on reporters who are there to relay the information to you in a set number of characters.
Whether this is because of an exclusive BSSW marketing agreement or just laziness on the part of the Rangers Social Media department, its a shitty situation and I hope it changes in the future.
EDIT: To all of you commenting now, I posted this during the Kole Calhoun portion of the presser when they were NOT broadcasting on Twitter. They only began broadcasting one Marcus Semien took the stage. Please stop commenting βit was on Twitterβ, because it wasnβt. Iβm glad they did what I asked for Semien/Seager, and Iβm not sure why they couldnβt have done it for Calhoun.
Barry Horn tweets that Fox national has done away with all of the regional ladies.
Next Friday, my old high school in Texas is playing on Fox Sports Southwest and it's 2 huge nation ranked teams. I was hoping to watch somewhere but have no idea who would carry this package. Anyone have ideas?
How are y'all watching this game?
If youβre like me and this is how you watch basically all of the Spurs games, I guess weβre going to be a part of live stream gang soon unless a deal is made.
The only βnon-cableβ services that will have the Fox Sports regional channels now are Hulu Live TV and AT&T TV Now. Say it with me: FUCK Sinclair Broadcast Group.
