A list of puns related to "Fluent Design System"
For those who don't know, Fluent Design is the design language made and used by Microsoft which is open source and anyone else can use it to develop their own software.
Like it or not, you gotta admit Microsoft has been really aggressive in improving its visual designs in the recent two years.
As a designer using the Apple ecosystem, I seriously hope that Apple puts more focus on Mac's UI. I know it's been receiving amazing updates and versions ago OSX still looked quite different from the current one. But I believe there is still room for larger and more drastic improvements.
Personally I really hope the Dark Mode becomes universal and consistent across apps and system UIs. I know individual 3rd party apps may need time to catch up, but at least the native ones can take the first step.
On top of the visual part, I also wish Apple gives more attention on designers' needs too. MS has seemingly gone all in to address it. And visual designers, especially ones working primarily in 2D, have long been advocating for Mac. Now that the competition is up, I look forward to more improvements from Apple too
Hopefully we can have a civil discussion about this.
I'm really interested to see what r/apple has to say about Microsoft's new design language moving forward. Personally, I think it looks great, but I can't help but think I'm the only one who's making strong connections to Apple's current design. The use of transparency (I know about Aero, but that was a lot different than the transparency seen across iOS and macOS), and bold typography stick out to me the most. So far I've seen nothing but praises from people, letting Apple fans know that this new system trumps anything put out by Ive's design team. For those who haven't seen it yet.
All in all though, I'm a fan of it. it's about time IMO that Windows gets a visual makeover. However, I don't see what the big deal is, as Apple has been following suite with a similar aesthetic since iOS 7-10. It's also too early to tell if I'll enjoy it as good design isn't just about the looks.
If Microsoft did take cues from Apple, I say let them. For the end user, it does nothing but benefit us.

What are your thoughts?
If you have been watching the Build conference closely, you would have noticed the new Microsoft Fluent Design System, aka Project Neon. Now a few documentation have come up
What do you think of these? Did I miss anything?
edit 1: added Tree View and Color Picker. Thanks tpartl!
edit 2: added Parallax.
Does anybody here also think the same as me? Although I like the wonderful design concepts and new ideas in there, on retrospection, I think this goes solidly away from the "simple pleasure" that MS trapped me in when they unveiled their Windows Phone 7. I liked the simple flatness of design (unique among the 3 eco-systems - Android or iOS), liked the livetiles (flat, but lively), and basically not as 3D as the iOS icons. Now, with a push for Fluent Design, of course, boundaries for creativity is pushed further, but is probably no longer going to be unique among Android, IoS and Windows. Right?
Hi reddit!
After publishing last week an article on medium.com about examples of layouts for apps using Fluent Design System, I wanted to continue this work and explain how I've came to those layouts. So here is the next article: Layering structureβββFluentΒ Design
Hope you'll enjoy it. :)
Let me know what you think about it, and what changes you would make to improve this system! :)
PS: there is** redesign concept of Groove** at the end of the article, if you like concept design. ;)

Hello guys, this is another post I have made in r/phinvest to ask wise wizards how in the world they magically made money.
I have a list of questions that hopefully someone will answer, but before that I think details are important.
16 turning 17 early next year, next academic year will be my first year in SHS. Current amount of money holding : about 2500 - 2700 php. Earning per month : opportunities are hit or miss, but this year I made an average of about 15-20 usd everymonth. (I do art commissions) I want to use this money for good, and by good I mean investments. But not investments in stocks or coins, but myself because I think everybody here will agree with me that itβs a good idea to invest in themselves. (Learnt this from people and really understood it in βThe richest man in Babylonβ). What is the best way to be knowledgeable in finance, accounting and basic economics? I want to understand all the vehicles for investing and be able to understand those fancy words on statements on finance articles. I want to be able to how choose a bank and a company to invest in. Basically that. How would a teenager learn this?
Is there a book that will teach me everything I need to know?
Also random question that doesnβt relate to the post, but through any forms of investing do you think itβs possible to make 500k php in 2 years? Is it a realistic goal?
