A list of puns related to "Fecal occult blood"

For the last 2-3 months I've been having some abdominal pain/discomfort, and for probably the last year or so I've been having bowel movements that are very long and thin. I had convinced myself I had colon cancer so I got a FIT test and used it today, the results were positive extremely quickly. I'm terrified I'm going to die. Of course I'm going to try and get an appointment with a doctor as soon as possible, but I don't know how long it will take and I'm sure its all over. Am I doomed?
I'm concerned about positive FOBT results I received yesterday, and can't see my gastroenterologist until May. I'm wondering if anyone has had similar issues.
In December I had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy following stool colour changes and constipation. Gastro found nothing, not even inflammation, and ruled a potential IBS diagnosis. At this time I also had an iron infusion for anaemia, but have had anaemia at various stages in my life [25 F].
I'm still experiencing yellow-brown stools with some mucous, with no more constipation, and I haven't seen blood, but it's still worrying that it's come up in the FOBT. I practically begged my GP to order the stool test after she expressed no concerns at these ongoing symptoms.
Now it looks like I may need a pillcam (capsule endoscopy) for my small intestine. I've also been feeling some discomfort under my lower left rib, and am feeling that classic anaemia tiredness creeping back :(
Feeling pretty sick with worry and alone in all of this.
So Iβve been working with a hematologist as Iβm quite iron deficient. I think theyβve ruled out all the types of anemia because theyβre focusing on it either being due to chronic bleeding or my menstrual cycle. Iβve informed them over and over again I barely have periods anymore and Iβve done 2 fecal occult tests already that came back negative but theyβre having me do another one. This is my third round of iron infusions in 2 years. The infusions get me up to about a twelve but I slowly get back down to below 8 and need more infusions. The first time I saw the hematologist my hemoglobin was 6.7 and after the first round I got up to an 8 which was the best Iβd ever felt. Then I got back down again and did a couple more rounds of infusions and got up to a 12 but now Iβm back down to 7.8. Iβve tried oral iron as well and due to my Gi issues itβs just not affective and causes more issues. I get theyβre trying to figure out why Iβm dropping so much but this is my 3rd fecal occult test. Is there a better test I should ask for if theyβre not getting the answers hey need?
Also side note I noticed they added to my chart β hypoalbuminiaβ. If anyone could explain that Iβd appreciate it. Thanks!
Edit to add : Iβm female, 25, 5β8, and about 145-150 lbs

can someone explain me the answer to this
thanks in adv! :))
24 male. I frequently get a tiny bit of blood when I wipe, i tend to have to wipe a lot and just seem sensitive there anyway. Doc did a DRE and said it was just small rectal tears from wiping. Later he ordered the decal occult test (cramping pains etc) Iβm just worried as I still get those tiny tears often even wiping lightly. I told the doc and he said when I take a sample just avoid the outside. Iβm just worried as I read they are super sensitive and Iβd hate to accidentally flag positive and gave all that stress and procedures only to find out it was because I had to wipe a lot one day. Thoughts?
Hello All,
I hope everyone is keeping well and safe?
I have a question in regards to immunochemical faecal occult blood test.
Am trying to use this technique to detect weather two patients have gastrointestinal cancer, also to Quantify the blood they are losing in a 24hour period and finally am trying to find some literature that would help me know if the amount of blood they have lost is normal?
I have collected my data, but am struggling to deduce how to calculate the blood that they have lost, what type of cancer they have and how to find out of the blood lost is normal or not?
I have checked the pubmed website but can't find any material or resources.
Am just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of where and how to get materials, resources or how to best quantify or learn about this technique better?
It's my first time trying this technique
All form or suggestions and advice would be appreciated
Regards

I took my dog in for a boarding for 4 nights. Recieved no calls or texts of any concerns from the boarding facility.
When picking up my pet she was covered in dried fecal matter and urine from her back to her tail. I took her leash noticed it and moments later she had diarrhea followed by apx 1/4 of a cup of dark and light blood w/o stool present.
She became lethargic immediately and wouldn't drink water so I rushed her to the emergency vet and paid a $500 bill for her care.
Can I take this to small claims?
Is there other legal action I can pursue?
2: I had to throw out her food, due to the boarding facility handing me it back covered in dried urine from a male dog peeing on it.
All, I'm looking for more information about the JCAHO rules about POC Fecal Occult Testing - having no luck on internet searches.
Background - I'm working in the ED the other night and we didn't have any more developer. I requested a bottle be sent down to the ED from the lab. They refused, stating that they were undergoing inspection and that JCAHO would have a fit if we had any down in the ED, not under strict lock and key, and without log books, and QC testing anyway. As it is, our lab forces us to do two cards, one that we can interpret in the room (when we have developer) and one to be sent to the lab to perform (and charge the patient). Now, I'm not a big "rectals for everyone!" guy like some but when I feel they need it, I think it is appropriate that the physician can perform and interpret these tests. I feel like it was one of the first things med students are allowed to do and generally trusted on giving +/- report. Also, I'm relatively new to my hospital, but all other hospitals I've been through generally have these supplies easily accessible to staff. So I'm just curious if I'm missing something with the JCAHO rules or if it is a hospital specific issue.
I39 year old male 210 pounds 6ft. I have been to the gi for mucus in stool and thinner stools although not pencil thin. I donβt think I have bleeding but since reading so much on google I now question that. The mucus sometimes looks maroonish in color. Because of this I took a fit test 4 times when the mucus color was questionable. All of them came back negative. Is it possible 4 tests missed it? Also have no pain and go once a day and comes out very easy especially since I changed my diet and eat super clean. Also I would like to add my symptoms started after a Really bad stomach bug a year ago. Of course before that I never really took time to examine my stool.
here are the items as followed:
exam- $90
DHP/Cor/Parvo/Lepto
annual booster- $82
bordetella booster- $41
lyme- $53
influenza- $58.50
blood panel- $250
proheart- $125
fecal exam- $80
simparica- $120
all in all, about $900. this wouldβve been $200-$300 at the other place. but our old vet did the bare minimum, never did blood work and we were giving heart worm meds and not this proheart shot. my bf wants to never come back after the lyme and influenza boosters now lol
