Coliform (fecal matter) in well water after being treated

So a little over a month ago when getting well sample from faucets, Arsenic and Coliform was discovered. They said no E. Coli. The well was shocked and tested for coliform, and it tested negative.

A filtration system was added a few days ago and it tested positive for coliform again. The seller is installing another filtration system that is supposed to filter out coliform, but now I’m starting to get wet feet here.

I’ve recently discovered that the owner never pumped their septic tank and would let it overflow. She it’s natural for the environment. On top of it, when the septic tank was inspected, neither myself or realtor were let known the day it was happening. We just received the paper work saying it was good.

I’m a first time home buyer. I was supposed to close today but I’m not signing anything until I get another sample back. I’m considering having a sample taken straight from the well.

Any recommendations? I’m really not sure if I should just walk away. I really like the house/property but I don’t want issues with my water.

> Tokyo 2020 Olympic organizers said on Wednesday that tests showed levels of E. Coli up to 20 times above the accepted limit and fecal coliform bacteria seven times higher than agreed at the planned venue for marathon swimming and triathlon.

> "We will take the best possible measures to make sure that the venue satisfies all relevant standards of international federations and that athletes can perform at their best feeling very safe," Koji Murofushi, Tokyo 2020 sports director, told a news conference.

> Escherichia coli tested as high as 5,300 per 100 ml, compared with the International Triathlon Union's ceiling of 250 per 100 ml, the Tokyo 2020 organizing committee and Tokyo Metropolitan Government said in a statement.

> "The experiment was completed in three years and based upon those results the TMG is considering what measures to take," said Kazuyuki Suzuki, a senior 2020 Games division director at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, when asked why the screens had not been used for the past five years.

> Tokyo officials also said they were working to increase the storage capacity of a Tokyo Bay sewage treatment facility.

> International Olympic Committee Vice President John Coates discussed the water quality issue with organizers during a regular project review meeting in Tokyo this week.

My mother was trying to explain how Hepatitis is contracted, and told me and my sister how it was caused by fecal-chloroform. We said that it didn't make any sense, and couldn't, but she was absolutely certain it was true.

For the coast foragers; are wild mussels generally safe to eat?

I’m not talking about domoic acid or PSP, I’m talking about the kind of germs that’ll make you poop your pants lol. I’m confident that my state (California) monitors the bio toxins pretty well and avoiding the biotoxins will be pretty straightforward.

The obviously dead ones are easy to spot, but are there specific mussels to avoid? I’ve been avoiding the isolated mussel beds with only 10-12 of them and the ones that look like they’ve been out of the water for a while

Asked landlord to test water, promptly gave an eviction notice and wouldn’t share the results.

Hi all! The above situation gave me pause and I decided to drop $300 to get the water tested myself. There’s more results coming later this week but the initial results were that it has Coliform bacteria in it.

A little background. I live in Oregon. I’ve been renting this spot for days shy of a year. She has never offered to provide drinking water until she served us the eviction notice.

I’m wondering if anyone here has any insight as to if I can get a lawyer and get money back? How much is realistic? Is it worth the trouble?

Thank you!! I’ll answer any questions, I’m sure I didn’t provide all the context needed.

Not picking up the shit of the dog.

Today, I was on the parking lot of my holiday house, and we saw a guy with his dog. The dog stopped and started shitting on the ground of the parking lot. The owner just walked away... When we crossed him i said to my gf: "did he not pick up his dog's shit ?" Then once she said no i said "what a pork, disgusting". Then I thought about this sub and started to insult him. He walked away and once far enough told me to shut the fuck up.

It was an old guy (60y at least) and we are young. Next time I will react less agressively but get in front of the guy and tell him to pick it up. If he doesnt have one of those shitbags, I will tell him that its too bad for him that he didnt take one with him and will force him to pick it up with bare hands and bring it to trash.

It's crazy how much dog shits i find here...

Guillame barre

My Uncle's family started out decades ago as "Vatican 2" Catholics. But they gradually got radicalized by their church and AM talk radio. He started railing on about George Soros, Obama, liberals and "homosexuals'" years ago. Dozens of local right wing pundits are subsidized by right wing corporate interests to promote their radical agenda on talk radio shows.
I had to visit the midwest in 2013 and they informed me that they did not go to the Starbucks near their house because they "hired homosexuals". He moved the family out far south west; away from the near west suburbs where they used to live. But all of their service work was still back centered on the old hood.
Anyways, they went full QANON during the trump years, refused to get vaccinated saying that it was some kind of vague conspiracy by Soros and Gates to control the population. They told me I was going to hell for having tattoos, that sort of stuff.
His wife caught covid at thanksgiving. Well actually three of the family tested positive for covid but she got it the worst and was immediately hospitalized where she got Guillame barre syndrome. Lost the use of her arms and the ability to speak until just this week, but she's still hospitalized and in rough shape.
Ironically the syndrome is a rare side effect of two of the vaccines and one of the reasons they had put forward for not getting vaccinated.
My grandmother was hard core Catholic but took my toddler mom in the early fifties to get vaccinated for polio. There was a kid in the neighborhood that had gotten polio and they were all terrified because they did not know how it was transmitted.
It was at this point that they started the practice of adding chlorine to pools because it was thought that maybe polio was transmitted by the water. But it also helped keep the fecal coliform count down so they kept the regulations..
