- Dolly Parton - Jolene. It seems that Ezra has really been into this sound lately. The tasteful guitar licks and the classic country songwriting are reminiscent of a lot of fo tracks on FOTB including: Gold Rush, Rich Man, Flower Moon, We Belong Together
- Paul McCartney - Ram. This was Paul's first proper solo album, much as FOTB is Ezra's first solo album. It was not well received by critics but it has aged well due to its looseness and freedom.
- Kacey Musgraves - Golden Hour. Kacey is obviously very influenced by Dolly so this is more of a modern take on Jolene. It has hints of psychedelia that we see in Sunflower, Big Blue, Spring Snow.

Im torn. My youngest daughter is getting married in 6 months. She has asked me to give her away. I will have been a women for over twelve months by then. Some but not all of those invited know me as a man. The mother of the bride and I divorced many years ago and the relationship is still fairly nasty at times.
Do I dress neutral, male or female for the event? I would prefer not to ask my daughter as she is likely to consider my feelings over hers and the other guests. Her mother could also make a scene and I don't want to be the cause of that.
Suggestions??
So Vampire Weekend just released their 4th album, Father of the Bride. It's been 6 years since their last one, so the hype has been ridiculous. I'm sure you all know Vampire Weekend, one of the most popular indie pop rock type acts of the past fifteen years.
Father of the Bride is a pretty different change in direction for VW, as it's much more folky and laid back than their previous albums (with the exception of Sympathy, a banger). I think the mixing ans arrangements are beautiful, as demonstrated in lead single Harmony Hall, but also throughout the whole album. The lyrics, while not quite as strong as their previous works, I think are still solid, ans besides i think the music is more important unless we're talking about hip hop. My main criticism of the album is just that it drags on a little bit, and is a bit inconsistent. I think it could have been 15 songs and closer 48 minutes and been a tighter and more cohesive album. As it stands though, I think it may actually be their weakest album, which isnt to say i dislike it at all. I love the new direction, and with 18 songs there are many fantastic ones to choose from.
What does everyone else think of the album?

I was just watching the 1991 remake to Father of the Bride. During the movie, they mention it cost $250 a head for the wedding with 572 guests. That equals to $143,000 in 1991 dollars.
So out of curiosity I went to https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/ to see what would be the 2019 dollars. Rounded up, in 2019 that would equal to about $471 a head meaning the wedding would have cost George Banks an astronomical $269,412.
The average price per head in the United States in 2019 is $232, which is far lower than the adjusted for inflation price of $471 at about 68% more. Meaning the average wedding for 572 guests would still be a lot but less than 1991 at just under $133,000.

I can now understand Georgeโs anxiety. Not only because his only daughter was getting married but because in 2019 he wouldโve spent over a quarter of $1 million for a wedding.
Does the Groom, Best Man, Groomsmen, Father of the Bride all wear the same suit? Or should each wear something slightly different for each role? And if different, how?

Iโm really excited about the new LP comming very soon and I wanted to know your opinion on it. As the beatles have Sgt Pepper, the beach boys have Pet Sounds do you think that Father of the Bride will be their global masterpiece ? I find that (regarding the songs available) the atmosphere behind the album is really refreshing but also a little bit experimental. In my opinion there is some kind of similitude between FOTB and the others. Sorry for my english Iโm not a native speeker but I wanted to know your opinion on that
So my mate is getting married on Saturday. Her mum, dad and sister (and countless cousins) are attending the wedding but wonโt participate. My best mate and I (both girls) are stepping up to do it.
We are treading a thin line between being fun and heartfelt but also not being a f*ck you to the family.
We made it a toast and a speech and it is short, heartfelt and sort of funny.

So, in a way, it is very progressive, in that fathers want their daughters to be taken care of in hard times. The family of the groom assumes the dowry is a fee paid to them by the bride's family to take in their daughter.
