Hello and salutations. I would like to share with you Ereth, the Second World. A canvas upon which I would like you to paint your story.

The First World is the realm of Fey, Fiend, Celestial, and more. Ruled by the immortal races and the source of all magic. The Second World was created by the Ancestors, a home for the mortal races to live and thrive, free of direct interference from the First.

Yet, over the years that line has blurred. The First World leaks into the Second, and a time of change is coming for all.

Campaign

This campaign is intended to be long-format, open-world sandbox, and character-driven. There is plenty of room for homebrew both on my end and can be requested by the players. The intention is to start low level and with very little, and allow the players to develop and grow into mighty legends.

If things go very well, I would like to go from 1-20 and over many in-game years and decades. This would give the possibility of your 20 year old bard starting out at an old tavern to live long and become famous for songs of adventure after 40 years of travel. This affects different races differently, and it would be up to the players how they want to continue or preserve the legacies of their characters.

Players

I do have some asks for players interested in this campaign:

-Have some experience. You don't need to be a veteran, and I love welcoming new players into the game, but I don't think this campaign is the right one for that. Six months to a year of consistent playing should be enough to start.

-Eventually, I would like to try some Kingdoms and Warfare-esque mechanics created by Matt Colville. I don't know that I'll be using his system in 1 for 1, but an interest in warfare and politics down the road would be great.

-I welcome every single person in the whole wide world. Our differences make us interesting. Let's be good humans to each other.

This game is intended to be able to address mature themes if and when they come up. We don't really need to go into detail with some of these things, but I believe in portraying a real world and we can do that between adults using reasonable judgmen

Recently these was a Warhammer Fantasy short story from the Warhammer Vermintide 2 writers where the innkeeper Franz Lohner chit-chats with the wood elf Kerillian about the Pale Queen, also known by the name Ereth Khial in Warhammer Fantasy. Within Warhammer Fantasy Ereth Khial was a cautiously worshipped wicked deity of the elven underworld Mirai who snatched souls to her domain before they ended up into the maw of Slaanesh.

Now, I'm not particularly familiar with the details of the events of The End Times, but it is somewhat common knowledge that most of the deities and characters are gone from The-World-That-Was during the time of Age of Sigmar. I also could not find any lore of Ereth Khial within those apocalyptic events.Anyways, there was a brief sentence towards the end within that short story that caught my eye and got me pondering about Ereth Khial's presence in Age of Sigmar: "She’s been dreaming of herself at the head of a dark host, bat-winged spirits rushing around her like the wind". This made me think of Rephallim, the winged wraith creatures who did the dirty work for Ereth Khial - dragging the souls to the Underworld, and further made me think about the shadow daemons and shadowkin within AoS, and the shadowy bat-winged creature that shows up in one of the Broken Realms short stories released a year or so ago. I know - quite wildly imaginative connection of dots here - apologies for that, but it got me inspired!

Has there been mentions anywhere about this "Pale Queen" or Ereth Khial, or other mirroring presences similar to her, perhaps for example within the lore of Shyish or Ulgu? And do you think she will once again have a presence in one form or another once the so called "Umbraneth" emerge properly within the lore of Age of Sigmar? Perhaps some of the Pale Queen's traits are now inherited within Malerion, or even the Shadow Queen?

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Orks have many problems in modern day life. This treatise will be a short description and explanation of many of them. I hope to follow this work with a potential solution. Stereotypes and Culture / "Trog Life"

I argue that use of the word "Trog" is a racism, blunt and simple, and that such sneering reveals more about the shortcomings of those that use the word than those of their supposed victims.

Further, the "trog" stereotype is not reality. Like any good lie, it has enough truth in it to lend it credibility. Yes, Orks are often poor. Yes, Orks are often uneducated. Yes, Orks often turn to crime. Yes, orks are stronger than humans. Yes, Orks have problems in a world built for humans. Ork problems come from that bad fit, not some virtue or intelligence that is lacking in Orks. Orks have a culture and history in this world, and it's one to be proud of.

The popular "Trog" culture is fostered onto us by the media, and it is oppressive. It furthers stereotypes that hold the Ork people down. It is true that we consume that media more than others, but that consumption is created through targeted advertising. It enslaves our children to these stereotypes. We need a boycott on "trog" rock marketed to us and a return to supporting local Ork musicians, whatever musical genre they choose.

Yes, many Orks are poor. Ork poverty has many causes:

Our rapid physical maturity is not dealt with in the current legal framework. An ork is ready to work, start a family, start a life at the same time a human is going through puberty. The legal system denies us that, leaving many young orks to to turn to crime if they wish to feed their families.

Our physical maturity also frequently causes friction in an educational system designed for human lifecycles. Our early development and puberty causes conflicts in human school systems that are not ready to deal with 6 year old teenagers that are frequently stronger than adult human teachers. Orkish teens are frequently thrown out of school systems, and we all know what that does to future income and life opportunities.
