A list of puns related to "Ecological footprint"
I am working on a podcast in which I want to discuss different sustainability/environmental issues from different viewpoints.
I want to focus one episode on what the most sustainable options are when choosing products in normal grocery stores based on their packaging materials. It is widely known that plastic is 'evil' and should be eliminated much as possible. But I wonder if paper/glass can't be just as bad and if plastic doesn't have any beneficial sides to it? For example, it does preserve food.
For my podcast I'd like to talk to experts on this podcast and preferably I want to give more science-based information to my audience.
I am looking around but I'm not sure how I can find someone in Rotterdam who really knows a lot about this. I'd like to keep it local so preferably someone from this city.
Thanks for any tips!
Ok this is kinda cool so listen up
It compares humans demands for resources to Earth's capacity to generate resource as well as absorb human waste
So u can Google up ecological footprint calculator and you'll find yours with a short survey
It'll show how many Earths will be needed if everyone in the world lived like you.
It seems like you can't use the internet these days without having the misfortune of being bombarded by this family. And hey, I'm not going to just do what everyone else usually does and just call them stupid as I'll acknowledge they all have strengths. Kim seems to genuinely care about helping people in her pursuit the becoming a lawyer, Kris and Kylie are outstanding at capitalizing off of fame.
No, what I want to criticize them on is not stupidity or even the fact that they flaunt their body dysmorphia all over the internet. I want to point out that they're awfully selfish and no one even bats an eye.
From what Kylie has posted, you can tell she owns quite a few houses and has an obsession with hoarding cars. Her and her siblings regularly fly private to exotic vacation destinations. It's clear that she has a tremendous impact on the environment, that she causes in one week the footprint an average family might have in a decade. It's obscene and unnecessary. And she's the most obvious example since she's the billionaire among them but clearly her entire family tries to consume as much and live as lavishly as they can.
All I'm saying is it's fucking selfish and no one talks about it. They pretend to care about the planet and climate change and yet they're among the worst polluters in the world. The fact that they're able to live pristine lifestyles doesn't separate them from the fact that they're indeed causing magnitudes greater than the average person pollutes. It's basically the gist of the flooding scene in Parasite. The wealthy get to hide away in their bloodsucking mansions while everyone else bears the impact of their lifestyles. And I get Americans on average pollute much worse than the world average, but ICE vehicles, fast fashion, plastic waste, and living w/ an inefficient fossil fuel energy grid aren't optional for many Americans just trying to survive on the shitty wages our country allows people to be paid.
Do people not talk about it because this is the lifestyle they want themselves? The "American Dream" so to say? All I'm saying is buying 5 20,000 square feet houses and 25 cars is wasteful and unnecessary and people who do this ought to be called out for the fact that they're taking advantage of the Earth's resources to live incredible selfish indulgent lifestyles.
Is it because of the super insulation, or the closing of thermal bridges so that heat doesnβt go outside, or something like that? Whatβs the reason for passive houses being better for the environment than normal houses?
