A list of puns related to "Biomass"
Me and a friend were doing mutations and ended up vs black death. He was leveling Abathur and used p1, and the swarm hosts were dying to Black Death damage despite having full biomass. Had to win through other healing.
Later on he was maxed and again went p1 vs a different black death map, but this time the swarm hosts did passively outheal the black death, regardless of their hosts attacking anything.
Does abathur being level 15 gives biomass extra life regen, seperate from the healthsteal effect the level 15 upgrade mentions?
If not, why were they dying at full biomass before maxed but not after?
In halo 3, we can see that high charity has been completely absorbed by flood biomass. Every single inch of the walls and floor is covered in it. Did that all come from the dead bodies, or does the flood physically grow on its own somehow?
So while it apparently zombifies any mammal bigger than a cat, and gene-jacks insects, amphibians, and reptiles, why doesn't the blob do anything to plants? Its goal is biomass conversion to replicate more blob yes? From the look of slime pits, I'd guess it has hijacked the cellular machinery of algae and bacteria to create slime spawning sites. So why ignore plants? That's basically handing over a significant portion of the planet's biomass to the triffids and mycus as free real estate.
Bushes should begin trying to suck in and consume anything that comes close.
Being a lumberjack should become a hazardous job, because random trees will try to grab and eat you.
The planet is being xenoformed into a deathworld. As time passes, the plant life should go from benign to actively malevolent. (Side note: that series fucking rocks, you should totally read it).
So this may have been touched on before and my lore on the Tyranids isn't very extensive, but from first glance Tyranids are THE major threat to the galaxy. Countless uber predators controlled by a hive mind intelligence that can adapt and evolve to any situation seems pretty unbeatable at first, there could be plot devices such as they are allergic to milk and explode on contact which would be very unsatisfying. Or they get drawn away from the galaxy by some thicc biomass elsewhere which is also unlikely.
So it looks pretty bleak -sips the grimdark like a fine wine- but the trouble is I think it makes story progression hard for the Tyranids, because then they essentially become this unstoppable doom which never comes.... Unless they do 40k end times...
I remember looking at this image of the 40k galaxy zoomed out and the Tyranid fleets looked like they were basically a horrifying space pacman about to eat it in one bite. It looked like the fleets were several times larger than the galaxy and didn't even show the whole thing.
So, how would that even be remotely enough biomass to feed and sustain all of them? And how long can they sustain such a large mass, travelling the emptiness of space must use a lot of energy, even as perfect recyclers there must be a lot of energy lost. I also noticed that the galaxy hasn't been completely encompassed either, which in my mind would have been more effective, unless there was a time constraint.
It seems likely Tyranids have to hit hard and fast and move on before they cannot sustain themselves. If this is true then the fight against the Tyranids essentially becomes hold the line.
Unless they change their tactics yet again which I feel would be a good narrative point. What if the hive mind decides the current angle of attack is unsustainable and moves on leaving a splinter of itself behind. The splinter left behind goes from being a devourers to a colonisers, having to evolve in new and interesting ways to sustain a long war, maybe evolving fauna to collect energy which isn't biomass. I think a good/bad part of this is the weakened connection to the hive mind meaning certain individuals Tyranids have to think more independently to survive allowing for more individuality in armies also while keeping true to the narrative...
I just came to realize this. I haven't really bothered with drop pods in the past and this just dawned on me. Instead of linking them up with my main grid, I just plot down a couple of biomass burners and deconstruct them after. Most pods only need a couple of biomass burners to open - some take a large amount of power to open so you will need to hook them up to your main net still. I take a stack of solid biofuel with me when I go pod hunting. Thought I'd share the tip since there's so many new people around currently. May your hard drives bring you the alternate recipes you wish for!
Basically, reincarnation without all of the magic.
Recently purchased a home. The lawn is sand and very malnourished. It used to be a hay pasture. So far I have sent out soil samples and have added the recommended fertilizer. I have a feeling it needs something extra though. Maybe bunch or bringing in topsoil or something. Any ideas?
I am astounded at the sheer number of players who STILL either don't know this, or don't care about this. They simply intercept early attack waves in front of the toxic nests Abathur has laid, eager to hog all the action, no matter how far forward and away from the base Abathur lays his nests.
The thing about Abathur is that he is weak in the early game but after he has snowballed, in the mid and late game he is unstoppable. The additional Biomass Abathur gathers early on would allow him to snowball much sooner and need to be carried for a shorter portion of the game.

I have more than a dozen storage containers, all filled with biofuel, and I'm always making more... whenever I expand my workspace I usually have to make a constructor setup just to deal with all the leaves and wood. I need to do something with it all.
I'm just getting started in the oil phase so I don't have fuel generators set up yet. I've heard that you can set up a bunch of biomass burners and they will burn for hours at a time with little supervision. I have about 30 burners right now and they can go for a long time.
Hello,
I wonder what can I use as a nutrient source for duckweed, can fertilizers do the job? what kind of fertilizer?
Hey everyone!
I picked the game up today and Iβm having a bunch of fun. However, after a while my Biomass Burner starts breaking down and the fuse box things shows up. I flip it, and then a few seconds later it does it again. Is this a bug? Or is there a fix to this?
Most have probably heard about how efficient flies reproduce:
"Scientists have calculated that a pair of flies beginning reproduction in April may be progenitors, under optimal conditions and if all were to live, of 191,010,000,000,000,000,000 flies by August."
So what species of lizard comes closest to a fly when it comes to reproduce? We are not just talking about number of offspring, but total biomass. And lizards are vertebrates after all, not insects, so they need more time than a few months, but some species are way more efficient than others.
