A list of puns related to "Diamond flaw"
I've spent the last month or so binging Platinum after a four year hiatus. After EV training my sixth Pokemon for the Battle Frontier (a very nice Salamence), I decided to take a break and think about what major flaws of the Gen IV games need to be addressed in a remake.
That, in turn, led me to consider the speed of DPPt. The Gen IV games are, in many ways, slow. Everyone has seen this gem of a video by now. Health bars and surfing aren't the only slow aspects of DPPt, however. The battling and exploration, I've found, reward slow and deliberate consideration: slowly ascending Mt. Coronet to face the box legendaries, backtracking to Celestic Town before you can challenge the fifth Gym, and facing the foggy cliffs and infamously mean battles of Route 210. I tend to play video games slowly and with extensive preparation (stocking up on items before a Gym Leader, for example), so I find the sedate pace of Platinum delightful.
That being said, the slow pace of DPPt is nearly destroyed by a single and horrible flaw: HMs. For those unfamiliar, DPPt contains 8 HMs, compared with BW's 6 or XY's 5. Each of these are either used constantly (Surf, Fly, Rock Climb), or stretch out the already slow pace of the game with their absence (Defog, Cut). The fact that you constantly need them for progression, combined with how useless many of them are as moves (again, Defog), means that you're forced to either weigh down your team with up to two HM slaves, weigh down your team's collective movepool with HMs, or constantly visit the PC to swap out mons, none of which are good options.
As an example of this throttling of the game's pace in action, take Route 224, a postgame route accessible through Victory Road filled with rare encounters, tough trainers, and goodies. In order to get from the Pokemon League from Route 224, you need to:
β’ Fly to the League, if you're not there already
β’ Use Rock Climb to enter the cave that leads to Route 224
β’ Use Defog to clear out the cave, unless you want the already slow trainer encounters to be even more tortuously stretched out by a universal 20% evasion chance
β’ Use either Strength or Surf to navigate the cave
β’ Assuming you answered Strength for the former, you need Surf to collect all the items on Route 224 (including a Rare Candy and PP Max, which are hard to pass up)
If you solved this navi

I think our biggest clue to the origins of White Diamond can be seen in the episode "Change Your Mind". In this episode we see her throwing a tantrum and referring to Steven as "acting like a child". This MAY be simply a method of Rebecca Sugar to accentuate that White Diamond was supposed to be the overbearing toxic parents who doesn't see the error of their ways.
OR!!!!! It could very well be a reference to where White Diamond was originally from. The fact she knows what a child is immediately without having to be prompted whereas Rose and Yellow clearly had no understanding of the concept of children may imply that she had interactions with organic beings sometime before the existence of Yellow Diamond.
Now let's look at White Diamonds power. (Her first power)
I have too possible theories as to the origins of White's powers.
She was an AI used as a political or military weapon to control populations. But some kind of disaster happened where there were either too many enemies for her to get control of a certain battle,
She was used for the same purpose as above but instead of a war disaster, a different natural apocalyptic disaster that White's powers could do nothing to stop wiped out all organic life on the planet.
This would both explain her knowledge of Organic concepts and also her obsession for creating a society to be not only flawless, but space faring. As stated by Peridot in "It Could Have Been Great" gems are designed to be adaptable to different worlds. I believe when white began creating other gems she did this in order to prevent another disaster like the one she witnessed.
Well that's my theory. Let me know what you think
Been watching a lot of condor recently and this quote came up. Very relevant here
White Diamond spelled it out for us. It is Pink's flaw.
Yellow diamonds absorb blue light. So Yellow Diamond is weak when it comes to blue (She loves her).
Blue diamonds absorb red/pink light. So Blue Diamond thinks she needs Pink (Also love).
Pink diamonds absorb... green.
So of course when Pink Diamond finally sees a planet full of lush green growing things she is going to say "fuck it, this is my happy place now".

Edit: A helpful diamond-specific color breakdown image for the people interested in the color theory. Most websites describe Boron (in blue diamonds) as absorbing red light, though this one says it also absorbs yellow and green. It still fits with what White says in the show, which is that BD soaks up all the warmth in her spectrum.

My SO and I have been trying to find the right diamond. I have my setting picked out, and I definitely want a marquise shape diamond.
But I keep looking at all the diamonds and I kinda like the ones with clarity issues! There is one I keep going back to that has a white line going through it. With the flat surface of a marquise, flaws are very visible.
Is it weird that I kinda like the flaws? I've never been a perfectionist. I do also like the idea of a perfect, clear, shining diamond. But I keep going back and forth with it... sigh lol
With the situation of the movie what would you say PD/RQβs character flaws/ bad actions are? It seems to me like they are trying to set her up as inconsiderate/not aware of the feelings of others but I donβt really see it though I am sure I am misremembering/ interpreting things differently from the show
So, in the lore, the diamonds are known as perfect, right? Then why do they need a ship to become one? Why don't they just fuse? Maybe they can't. Discuss.
(This is more of a conspiracy than a theory, but either way.)
Hi all,
In the process of picking out a diamond for an engagement ring (pretty much have the setting figured out) and have done 1.5 months of reading/research. But I haven't found a site to really tell me what the differences are in different diamond flaws like feathers/clouds/crystals.
I know what all of them mean as flaws, but which are "worse" than the others? Any insight here would be awesome. Thanks!
