A list of puns related to "Choir (architecture)"
βFine, how much to acquire a singing ensemble!?β
It was Baaaaaaaroque music.
grins sheepishly
I teach middle and high school. I love my middle schoolers and they do well for me most of the time.
High schoolers? Iβve been dreading their choir since the 2nd month in. The kids are all spoiled (international private school), donβt want to be there, and are never held accountable for their actions.
I started calling parents and giving detentions for their behavior and all of them turned on me, saying that Iβm the only teacher doing it and itβs not fair. Now they literally are trying to bully me during class (saying things like βthe last choir director was so much better, why arenβt you like him?β) and sing horribly with these shit eating grins on their faces. My (new) admin says that until a couple years ago the school was a joke and kids did whatever they wanted. HS teachers still donβt know how to manage a classroom. Alas, these kids developed during the shit era of this school.
Iβve tried joking around with them, speeding up the pace of instruction, giving them extra free time, more say over the lesson content, everything. They hate it and I hate it.
So theyβre coming back on Friday with a new music appreciation class for the rest of the semester that Iβm making really fucking interesting and really fucking hard. Write an essay on Kendrick Lamarβs use of sampling. Explain how hertz are measured on a spectrogram. Make a portfolio as if you were an event/concert coordinator.
Makes me sad but damn I have never been more relieved to stop teaching the thing I went to school to teach.
People on the right love preaching to their choirs because it's easy. In some cases they don't have alot of options but that's all they ever do is jaw about how bad the otherside amd how peoe need to wake up to the people who are already awake...they don't dare try to reach normie or fence sitters like Tim and Rogan do on a scale like theres.
It's a multistep process with its many ups and downs.
But nobody wants to sing, they all just want to play bass

Heaven and Hell Music Video?!?!?!
Long story short, last week of December and first week of this new year I was in a pretty bad depression (still am). I knew of Silent Hill, but wasnβt really familiar with it other than knowing it was about a foggy town and that the series was psychological horror. I don't know why but the IDEA of Silent Hill possessed me almost as if it was of its own accord, and I felt called to immerse myself in this world. I needed emotional catharsis of all the dark shit in my mind, I needed help processing it.
I watched a walk through of Silent Hill and I was impressed. The atmosphere was amazing, and the cut scenes were incredibly cinematic. I come from a filmic background, and film is my true love and the medium that I gravitate the most towards, and I was stunned again by how βcinematicβ the game was.
Then I got to Silent Hill 2. Oh man. From that first scene of James staring at himself in the mirror I was hooked.. I honestly canβt even begin to describe the brilliance of that scene, it isn't even long at all, but it immediately and masterfully sets the groundwork for what is to follow. That image of James just staring at himself in the mirror, black pits where his eyes are, dead inside.. It seriously just resonates so much, it is executed to such a degree of perfection it is astounding. Then the whole game turned out to be like that.Of course the music is AMAZING and just lends itself so damn well to the rest of the game. In my opinion, Silent Hill 2 is honestly a high-mark in all of horror as a genre, because it cuts to the heart of what TRUE horror really is, which is examining monsters that DO exist in the real world, the monsters we make up for ourselves inside our mind.. As an aspiring director and story teller, honestly Silent Hill 2 is ideally exactly what I would make. Not saying I COULD do it necessarily, but it represents everything I admire in art, it is bold, creative, imaginative, well thought out to the finest details, it makes you FEEL. I am honestly so grateful that I took the time to get into this series, it helped give me context to the dark times I am in right now.
Rant over, again I know I am preaching to the choir, but I just wanted to get this off my chest to people who understand. I've told a few of my friends to take the plunge, because man, this game was something special. Truly lightning in a bottle, a testament that video games CAN be art in the right hands.

Updates:
Per Deux Moi the show is taking place in Down Town LA, this is an old video, but this was reported prior to any of this news appearing: https://www.instagram.com/stories/deuxmoi/2701826002871725974/
The text changed in the sunday service stream, adding "Sunday Service dedication to the loved ones of Astroworld".
They updated the image on screen to no longer show a time. Previously it said 12PST but clearly it didn't hit that time.
