A list of puns related to "Chapters and verses of the Bible"
Hey all,
Does anyone know of any electronic Bible versions that have all verse, chapter breaks, and headings removed? I'd really like to read individual books in a more natural way to help me more easily grasp the authors purpose/points as I read.
Thanks!
I am beginning to feel skeptical of these change lists for the bible. I started feeling skeptical after reading a list of changes in John 1, which I remember as going pretty much the way it does now. I do not claim to have a perfect memorization of anything, but I have a high degree of accuracy - this was the first chapter I ever memorized, a few years ago. Haven't kept up my studies since, unfortunately (sorry!)
Not saying the Effect isn't real, but that I need to know people's credentials when you say the Bible changed. Being able to rap the bible, quote it verbatim, writing it down as practice, meditating on it, if you've been doing that a lot then maybe I'll consider what you say. Reading? That isn't good enough.
https://imgur.com/gallery/YyfGckY I tried to label who was who, the blue message is from me, and I sent 2 screenshots, so I could show her in her own lie, this was followed by a text message from my dad calling my husband a key board coward for calling my mother a liar. All in all, a fairly normal session of communication between my family. My brother and I are fortunately now close, and my husband and I are traveling to see him and his wife this week!
Like, if I had just a nice painting of a forest with the words βDeuteronomy 25:11β on it
I have a Bible test coming up at school and I didn't study AT ALL
If objective morality exists, and slavery in any form whatsoever is objectively immoral, then God wouldn't have or shouldn't have given rules and exhortations in the Bible about how slavery should be properly done. If slavery is objectively immoral, then the Bible should be unilaterally condemning all forms of slavery every time it is mentioned. Instead, the Old Testament actively gives rules on how to properly own slaves and the New Testament contains many instances that condone slavery. If objective morality exists and slavery is objectively immoral, you should not follow a text that has actively supported it.
Here's a few bible verses on slavery:
Ephesians 6:5-6: (5)Slaves, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as to Christ; (6)not by way of eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart.
Colossians 4:1: Masters, grant to your slaves justice and fairness, knowing that you too have a Master in heaven.
Titus 2:9-10: (9) Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them, (10) and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.
1 Timothy 6:1: All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that Godβs name and our teaching may not be slandered.
Leviticus 25:44: Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves.
These aren't the only examples. And again, if slavery is objectively deeply immoral, then surely God, being all good, would have made put it on the level of the Ten Commandments to not enslave others nor condone the slavery of others. Frankly, if the Christian god, at any point in time, allowed for slavery to exist and even gave rules of how to do it instead than declaring it utterly and objectively immoral for any reason whatsoever, then if God exists and is generally a moral being, there is absolutely no way that it is the Christian god.
If someone claims that the Christian god got rid of slavery over time, it would have been better to just put You Shall Not Treat Your Fellow Human Being as a Slave right beside You Shall Not Kill and You Shall Not Commit Adultery and all the other commandments, rather than actively provide rules to it. Would it be mo

Luke 18: 10-14
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
