A list of puns related to "Canelé"
Pretty much title. I want to do an amuse for everyone at Xmas and given I've never heard of these until today it didn't seem fitting to spend $50+ on copper molds I'll likely never have another use for.
So I'm looking for a diy type option.
Any thoughts would be helpful. Even if that thought is "do something else" lol
Not familiar with rums at all and was wondering which would be a better pick - a spiced gold rum or a dark rum?
Hello canelé bakers of r/askbaking,
I just acquired some copper molds from Bordeaux and am very excited to start using them. I notice that some recipes say that the best way to coat them before baking is to use a mixture called "white oil" where you mix butter and beeswax. Is the white oil reuseable afterwards? The beeswax alone is fine but I'm concerned that mixing butter with it will cause the mixture to go rancid.
For context I'm only planning to use the molds like once per month. I love them but I don't love them enough to bake/eat them every week lol.
Are there any places that sell Canelé in Knoxville? Are they close to downtown?
EDIT: Thanks for all the responses from downtown. I'm curious now, any spots in the Farragut area?
I'm very curious to try it
