Like the title says I've lived here for quite some time. In fact I've never even paid taxes in another country. At this point I associate with Canada as my home more than my original country. The anti-immigrant rhetoric I see coming our of there is becoming worrisome. Usually I just assume this kind of thing is just internet trolling, but as a visible minority I've notice some worrying shifts in real life perception. It seems like every other post is complaining about immigrants in some form or fashion.
It becomes more unnerving when I speak to white immigrants and they seem to have no issues people just seem to laude their accents. When I speak to them visible minorities we feel the rise in subtle pressure. Normally I'd just attribute it to the bile flowing from the US. however I guess this is all to ask do you think any of the virulence coming from r/canada could be reaching reality because it certainly seems like it is.
Just a friendly reminder to reflect on some of the many great aspects of our beautiful city.
#1 in Canada, #23 globally. Take that, Copenhagen!

Yes, Victoria has issues. Yes, it could be even better. Yes, the ranking algorithm weighting is subjective.
Seriously, I live in Toronto and I am increasingly finding it difficult to justify staying here. Graduated from uni in 2017 and moved back here. Been living with my parents in the Burbs ever since as I can't justify paying an exorbitant amount each month for rent. Low wages don't help. Spending half of my life in traffic. Inflation on even gas prices and food now. Shadowbanned from all dating apps for resetting too much so there is NOWHERE to meet women. Rolling lockdowns don't help with the social side of life either. NOW I'm hearing that despite (reluctantly) getting double vaxxed I may be coerced (Forced) by the Government to get a THIRD shot to be considered fully vaccinated. Where does this end!?! Been learning Spanish so I'm thinking of fucking off to Colombia or Mexico for a bit. Do I sound crazy?
Iβve been talking to a really nice and helpful Canadian and theyβve been helping me get an understanding of how life in Canada is before I make any decisions of moving there, however, Iβd like to hear what life in Canada is like from an immigrantβs point of view :)
I'm in Quebec and wondering how life is for an engineer here in Canada. I know the numbers are generally very good in the USA, but I'm not quite sure about the conditions here.
Any reply is very appreciated. Thank you! :)
Where do you come from and is there anything you miss in the country you left? Has your life improved or unimproved? what made you decide you wanted to leave? And lastly what was the immigration process like for you?
I have a friend living in Lima who wants to move to Chicago. What's a good piece of advice I could give her?
Kon'nichiwa my friends,

And then the day came, when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Risk, by AnaΓ―s Nin
Important note Because of the difficulty and technique of marbling each keycap is 100 percent unique β there will be variations between cap to cap on marbling and colour

Hello, friends. I am a brazilian fellow that got offered a job in Canada (Ontario). I am considering the offer but when looking at reddit and some news media I see a lot of criticism about the country state by its residents. Right now the situation in Brazil is very critical in every way possible, so my question is: is the life quality in Canada really decreasing that fast or are things good even tho it used to be better? Thanks for your time, any advice on my situation is appreciatted.
Heard through a friend who works with them. They'll take it over at the end of 2023 from Sun Life and manage it for the next ~10 years.

Interesting to see that they're not sold out at half full after having some season tickets holders vacate seats.
