A list of puns related to "CIG"
I've been a backer since 2013 and I regularly follow development. Mind you, I'm no engineer, architect, or military personnel, and I'm definitely not a trucker but hear me out.
I feel like I really need to bring to attention or highlight when CIG let's a ship sell itself through its clear and balanced purpose with passion behind its design. The C2 hercules I personally think, hits every mark.
Every person sees a ships beauty and some promised function then dreams about what they want it to be capable of, then usually gets carried away. I like when ships are streamlined in accordance to there function.
It doesn't try to do or be too much. It doesn't bend to the will of selling more ships. It follows the ship design guidelines to the T. Both the C2 and M2 have the proper seating for each flight personnel and passenger. It provides clear escape, storage, habitation, and sticks to what is needed.
The turret placement adheres to ship balance per its use case whether you like it or not. There is no captains quarters because it's a personel, armor transport, or goods carrier. You're not the head of a huge multicrew ship. It's built directly for its use case. Head to toe, no useless frills or areas that make absolutely no sense.
1] follows clear use case while still adhering to the rule of cool and is properly balanced for future game play
2] no imagination or questioning if it will fit into legitimately established game play
3] ships current flight model is responsive in atmosphere and fast but still follows a large ships turning radius with heavy load
4] clear labeling, interior space does not obstruct path to cockpit
5] clear escape routes and exit ladder during emergency, clear paths to all components and feels natural to access them, item placement makes sense with escape pods, weapons rack, habitation, and pilot suite
6] perfectly suited to its use case and feels like its built for a real space pilot - nothing over the top
7] attention detail on every nook and cranny in textures, interior lighting is beautiful [minus the small sun]
After thoughts:
Cons: should be center/back heavy but I'm sure that will be fixed when landing _ miniature sun in the back of ship is annoying
I hope I didn't bore everyone with my rant but how many ships have we seen come out that don't really have an interior that makes sense, or maybe it's trying to do too much, or does it's specific focus poorly and doesn't balance well in future proofing.
Example: 600i, Star

As a 16 year old I had a job going to local supermarkets with their loss prevention department to sting cashiers. The supermarket did this because itβs better for business to have a person quietly go into the office and get scolded than it is to be taken out in handcuffs by state police (which is what happens when they do their stings.) the storeβs policy was 3 day suspension with no pay.
So anyway I got my beer and cigs and went to this woman in her 50βs. I looked like a 12 year old at that age, except for my height. I say my usual line that I left my ID at home. She says βyou look like a little kid, looks like a sting to me.β The other cashiers chuckled at this. She sold it to me and said βhave a nice day.β As I was gathering my booze and walking away I hear her say βI need a 3 day vacation anyway.β The other cashiers chuckle again and seem unperturbed by this.
And thatβs it. I brought the goods to the LPD guy, he suspended her for 3 days (no pay). I recall telling the LPD guy that she seemed happy to sell me the booze to get some days off.
Unsure of how to feel about this. At the time I was kinda feeling like she was a shitty person for selling an underaged kid booze on purpose. Now after having godawful shitty jobs myself that treat people like robots I kinda see where she is coming from.
PO in the PTU is a death zone. Did everyone forget about the PVP drama a little over 1 month ago?
Creators from around the entire SC community organized themselves in a constructive discussion about the state of PVP in the PU and offered many reasonable suggestions for how we can deal with it. Camping PO being the central conflict of the story:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QE5P5Yj68G4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCIYNDxYwTY
Morphologis, SaltEMike, Moist_Noodle, CaptainBerks, CaptainRichard, and many more took time to discuss the problem seriously and offer real feedback to CIG.
Obviously CIG isn't obligated to do exactly what the community says, but after all that we get an open-fire order in PO armistice?
It's like we're taking steps backwards instead of forwards, the turrets obviously cant defend the station and everyone knows it, maybe that'll be solved before it hits live (if it hits live at all) but that doesn't solve the core issue that PVPers have no content! Give the PVP community some content, even just a crumb, so they aren't left with camping PO and alienating themselves from the rest of the SC community. Can anyone seriously say they wanted this "feature" in the next patch?
Guys? CIG? You're tearing the community apart, and maybe that's an exaggeration, but every night I log into the PU I see at least 4-5 people going at in global chat with somebody camping PO. Some of the people who get randomly ganked pulling into the station log off and don't get back on. I know you say you're "listening", but it really seems like you're not taking community feedback seriously.
Edit: This post has attracted a lot of heat, and it's not surprising its a bit controversial. But I'm a player that primarily logs in to do PVP bounty hunting, and I made this post to argue for some content for pirate and BH PVP players so we're not always at PO fighting each other and fucking up other peoples' days. But half the people arguing against me are PVP players that seem to just want more pad camping. If people really want to pad camp 24/7 and never do anything else, then maybe the point is moot.
My guess is that it will wind up a bit like Shroud of the Avatar but with a much larger implosion. Roberts will either step down or be removed and then either SQ 42 will be pushed out the door to lackluster reviews or the company will be sold to one of the third parties, like Turbulent.
Eventually, theyβll push a half-baked semi-game, like Theatres of War, out the door as a stand-alone product or as something to placate backers. Progress on the MMO will stall due to insurmountable technical blockers and eventually be cancelled but theyβll fall back on either the PU as it exists today or ToW as evidence that they delivered a game.
I just donβt see Roberts being around for much longer. Heβs basically relinquished his role as the public face of the company and isnβt acting like a CEO either. Instead of quelling uncertainty and motivating his clients, he remains silent or jumps in on a thread like the one about the room system which has nothing to do with his role as CEO. When is the last time he did an interview about the game? He used to be front and center, writing the letters from the chairman and meeting regularly with the media. Now, nothing. Itβs similar to Richard Garriots rapid loss of interest in the project and eventual relinquishment of his role and selling the company to a member of the team to have them take it limping, unfinished, over the finish line. Big dreams that never came to fruition and an exit before the crap really hits the fan.
I've been reading through the subreddit on and off recently and a thought has always crossed my mind, what actually are the criticisms for the company? I couldn't really find an answer (admittedly I haven't tried looking all that much). The posts that mainly get to trending from what I've seen are almost all memes. So that's basically why I'm making this post/opening this thread. I want to know all the criticisms people have for CIG. I'm going to attempt to try and remove as much bias as I can while reading these (I am one of the people that likes Star Citizen up to this point) and I hope the response people give follow that (I'd rather not have people bashing me). Cheers guys.
Edit: Thanks for improving my understanding on what's been going on with CIG, it's been refreshing seeing what other people see as major flaws. In any case I'm gonna focus on getting the world recprd on subway surfers rather than playing SC.
Thousands of us are freezing while trying to load into the PU. This has been raised on the issue council with a lot of attention, but it is not recognized as a known issue in the latest patch notes. Thousands of us would agree it is an issue, and I for one would feel better if it was acknowledged as something you're working to remedy.

Hello everyone,
With the Pyro system being hinted at for a Citcon 2021 release, and the roadmap deliverable completing around that time, I wanted to hedge against some potential complaints and gather community support for keeping Pyro the empty oppressive system it deserves to be. And in doing so, finally giving a few community adored ships their time to shine.
With the Citcon 2019 Pyro demo, they made a significant change to the location of the Pyro-Stanton jump point, placing it very close to Pyro V. This is where it was in-demo, and this is where it should be. I am hoping they only placed it there in the demo for aesthetic purposes, to provide an impressive vista upon making the jump.
I would like to see this change reverted, but if not, there is still ample opportunity to keep the theme of Pyro true to its roots so long as no further nerfs are made. Things will just be slightly more accessible, but not by much.
To quickly remind everyone, distances on the Starmap are measured in astronomical units, and distances in-game are measured in millions of kilometers. The conversion is 6.1 astronomical units for every 100 million kilometers. The distance between Crusader and Hurston is 32Mkm, or 1.95AU.
The distance between Pyro V and Ruin Station is 4.87AU, or 80Mkm. The Carrack used in the Pyro demo is seen here expending a significant amount of fuel to make this trip.
The distance between Ruin Station and the "proper" Pyro-Stanton jump point is a brutal 9AU, or 147Mkm.
The distance between Ruin Station and the inner planets (Pyro III) is 9.9AU, or 162Mkm.
The distance between Pyro V (the "fake" Pyro-Stanton jump point) and the inners is 6AU, or 98Mkm.
In either case, whether we get the proper Pyro-Stanton jump point or not, traversing the Pyro System without a lot of refueling support will only be possible in a handful of ships.
The point of this thread is to make everyone aware of that, try to convince you that it's a good thing, and build community opposition to significant nerfs. It would be a real shame if CIG decides to scatter R&Rs every 50Mkm to accomodate single seaters, or scale the system down entirely.
I see a major point of contention being that Pyro shouldn't be gated behind $300+ ships, especially in alpha for t

AI β Off Duty Activities β Sleeping
The sleeping behavior is a segment of our new civilian behavior system, controlling how the AI sleeps, relaxes, and socializes in bed. We will support single beds, bunk beds and beds with privacy shutters in this first iteration.
AI β Off Duty Activities β Hygiene
The hygiene behavior is a segment of our new civilian behavior system, making the AI feel more realistic by scheduling toilet breaks, sometimes washing hands, and increasing hygiene values by taking daily showers.
Boreal Stalker
Implementing the boreal stalker creature into the game. Created by microTech genetic engineers to fill the apex predator niche wthin their planetβs ecosystem, the boreal stalker roams its tundras searching for prey.
Third Person Camera V2
Adding improved follow behavior to the third-person camera, with increased support for ground vehicles. The camera will also fully disconnect during accidents for more cinematic crashes.
Hey there,
let's sum up what we got to know about the company, not the game, over the last months:
All this leads me to the thought that the company is very healthy as Chris also stated in his last Chairman's Letter and we'll hopefully participate on all this as backers, specially in the mid - long term. What are your thoughts?
