Buck Knives Puns

Buck style hunting knives seems to have really thin, fine tips. I use them for cutting deer/flesh but also just as EDC. They seem to keep breaking though.

I had a good folding buck knife that I loved a few years ago, but the tip broke when I was cutting something open one day. No big deal, I replaced it with a k-bar knife in the buck folding style and it’s been great for the past few years but the other day I noticed the tip somehow broke off of that one too.

Anyone know of a comparable knife that’s sturdier and won’t break?

Buck 110 + 55 Bundle [C]: 110 is gritty on the pull. Scratched up and patina’d bolsters. Seen a lot of use and is sharpened (it got me real good a couple days ago). 55 is quite good. Some patina but barely used and never sharpened. 420HC for both. (SV: 65) Album: https://imgur.com/a/NZwu2e4

(A) for being BNIB. I was searching for one of these since December and finally got one recenlty. Ironically it's just not for me. I love the huge button. Has the most kick out of all the autos I've handled. The spring is strong in deployment but closes easily one handed. The spring is also replaceable without disassembling the knife. Quality Spyderco design, and very well executed. LC200. SV - $180

(A-) for being BNIB, but had a small snailtrail from the factory. This is a very unique puppy sporting S45VN. As much as enjoy figiting with this knife, I'll probably never carry it. Currently use a really cheap and nasty set of Wiltshire knives 😳. Looking to get a nice set of knives for my wife for mothers day.

I was looking to get a knife block set and ended up purchasing a 7 pce set of 3ID Baccarats. However after doing more research have found that these aren't that great and buying only a few knives is best. I can still return these if I need to.

Also if people aren't buying knife bllock sets, how are you storing/displaying them? Do you buy a separet knife block or holder? Or use the magnet strips?

I have completed the questionnaire below as someone suggested. Bonus points if the suggestions are available in a store where I am able to have a hold (Edit: I'm in Adelaide)

1. Style? - not really fussed. Currently have a cheap western set but I like the Japanese look.
2. Steel? - probably stainless or stainless clad. I know carbons sharper but probably won't have time for the upkeep.
3. Handle? - western or hybrid.
4. Grip? - handle.
5. Length? - chef/cook knife, paring knife and a bread knife
6. Uses? - cutting meat, vegetables, fruits, bread.
7. Care? - currently use honing but wouldnt mind learning whetstones
8. Budget? Around $300 AUD for the 3 knives if I can.
