A list of puns related to "BourrΓ©e in E minor"
Everytime I'm noodling around with some improvisation on E minor and i decide to hit that C on the G string it just sounds... bad. Just doesn't sound like it belongs there but I'm not quite sure why. I'd like to understand why and if there's any tips on using it correctly so I can stop avoiding it.

I'm an second year computer science major who has decided to follow through with doing a statistics minor. I'm wondering which of these elective classes would be the most relevant and to my field, although if it talks about really interesting but not necessarily relevant topics to my major, I would still consider it.

Hello, dear cellists!
I've starting studying Brahms's Sonata for Piano and Cello in e minor, and I'm looking for some thoughts from y'all as I get started, since I'm pretty new to Brahms's work.
What, in your opinion, are the key recordings to study to get a good overview of how this work has been interpreted and performed?
And in general, would y'all have any thoughts or advice (technique or interpretation) for someone studying this piece for the first time? From my initial read of the first movement it doesn't seem too difficult technically, so I guess I'm most interested in interpretation. (I'm already aware of the two sessions of this piece that Ben Zander of the Boston Philharmonic did during his interpretation lessons series on YouTube.)
Thanks, y'all!

What would happen if you took one of the most depressing songs in the history of music and changed it to the parallel major? Well fortunately I'm here to answer this question that nobody asked.
I know some of the chords aren't quite right and the Roman numeral analysis is partially off (I copy-pasted it from my analysis of the original score in minor and I haven't corrected everything yet), but it's mostly complete as far as how I wanted it to sound. I showed this to my theory teacher and he was horrified, which is the reaction I hope to achieve from you too. Enjoy!
PS: feedback is welcome! I'm still a theory newbie, so anything constructive would be greatly appreciated.
Im a beginner bassist (I play guitar but started bass a few months ago), and was wondering how do I solo in e minor. I'm gonna solo in Seven Nation Army, but can't think of anything. The solo I have right now sounds terrible (goes from indie/rock to jazz), and was wondering how to make it consistent, without it being boring. Thanks!

Got a hard rock backing track this week as its been 6 months since I posted one of those. Similar to last week's FTF, this one is also in E Minor. Normally I'd do something in an entirely different key but given how different this hard rock track is from last week's latin jazz track, thought it might be cool to see how people can take that exact same key and do something very different with it.
Looking forward to hearing some submissions and the suggestions and critiques they generate!

Hi all,

This week's FTF is in the style of funk with a definite disco groove to it; something we've never really done before with these. Hope this one gets you out of your comfort zone and approaching the fretboard differently yields some interesting results and ideas!

Hi all,
It's bouncerate with another First Take Friday. Hope everyone has had a great first week of September.
This week, we've got another post-rock track. This genre went over really well when I first posted it weeks ago, so hoping we can see the same level of interest this week. Enjoy!

Hi all,
It's bouncerate with another First Take Friday.
This week brings it back to where a lot of us started and the reason we picked up a guitar in the first place: rock music with a solid, hard-hitting riff and drums that keep on moving.

This one is in E Minor. If you're a fan of pentatonic scales, E Minor pentatonic will work great here as well.
This guy looks to be pretty new on Youtube and is coming out with some great tracks already. Show him some love and let's see what y'all can come up with on this week's First Take Friday!
