The iron-cross blister beetle(Tegrodera aloga), much like other blister beetles, excretes its hemolymph, which contains Cantharidin. It may cause severe blisters if it contacts bare skin. However, its derivatives may be applied as an anticancer agent in the future.

Blister from Beetle Bozo
I have just worn my new beetle bozo tractor boots for the first time and I have blisters on my heels now. I never had this issue with my other 2 pairs of Rickβs so I was wondering if itβs because of how hard this shoe is. Has anyone else had this issue with the beetle Bozo?

Found this beetle in my garden need help identifying it. Think it's a blister beetle not sure. Was about 1inch long and aggressive.

Live in Mid/Southern Indiana region, found this big ol guy crawling around in my room. Roughly an inch+ long. What am I looking at? My best guess so far is some kinda blister beetle
Update: One day later, pretty sure a Blister Beetle is the culprit. The three little blisters formed into this Queen Blister. Swelling almost gone, not too painful, blister is sensitive but not bad! Keeping it clean and dry, taking Benadryl and watching it VERY closely. Wear shoes outside folks.
