Agano images
Her real world specs:
- 35 knots
- 6x152mm guns 100lb shell
- 2x4 torpedo launchers 610mm torpedoes CENTERLINE mounted with fast reloaders
- Great weight balance, so fast rudder shift and small turning radius
- Very high shell arcs were possible 50 degree elevation (Think Atlanta island clearance)
- Machinery belt: 60 mm (2.4 in)
- Magazine belt: 55 mm (2.2 in)
- Armoured deck: 20 mm (0.8 in)
- Floatplane or Spotter plane single launcher 2x compliment
- Dfaa (aa added in the war)
- Radar
She could make for a very agile and fun ship with a powerful broadside of torpedoes, and also do island hugging with her guns and her powerful AA.
7/1944, Yahagi: + 4 x 3 - 25/60 96-shiki, 14 x 1 - 25/60 96-shiki, 13-go and 22-go radars

Idea for new Japanese Premium cruiser: Agano class cruiser, Yahagi
The number of Japanese premium cruisers is somewhat low atm, so I suggest a light cruiser for them, in the form of Yahagi.
For those who aren't aware, the Yahagi was a light cruiser of the Agano class, which is not in this game so far, and was built with six 152mm guns in the same layout as Aoba and Furutaka in her late war configuration, and two quad 610mm torpedo tubes.
For a Japanese cruiser, she had an interesting career. She took part in the Battle of the Philippine Sea, saving survivors from the torpedoed Shokaku, was active during Leyte Gulf and Samar, and assisted Yamato on her suicide mission during Ten-Go, in April 1945, being sunk in the battle, taking a large portion of her crew with her.
I believe she could work as a mid-tier ship at best, only having six gun, but eight quad torps make her far too powerful for the low tiers, so I suggest around tier 5 or 6.
But would you like to see her?

Agano Cruiser Class for Japan CL line
Alright lads, there're a discussion about the Agano Class for the Japan CL line on the WT forum (https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/429407-agano-light-cruiser-class/) I think it's much better to compare with the other ship (Fletcher, HMS Enterprise,...) because Japan tree is pretty much fubar in many ways. So what do you fine lads think about the Agano for Japan CL line ?
Edited: After reading some data from the files and report from Data miner: GJ planned to add the Kuma as the CL for Japan. Possitively it will be the first version which only have 7x140mm and nothing else (even a Destroyer have more firepower than that). Kuma vs Fletcher, place your bets lads.

Agano class cruiser and the future IJN CL line.
Given we know that WG are planning to split the cruisers in a CA and CL line in some (hopefully near) future, the probably most well known IJN CL (after the Kuma) is the Agano. I've been thinking about it lately and am not sure how to implement it in the game in terms of tier and balance.
Agano class CL:
Armament:
6 Γ 152 mm Type 41 guns (3Γ2)
4 Γ 76 mm Type 98 DP guns,
32 Γ 25 mm AA guns
8 Γ 610 mm torpedo tubes (4 Γ 2)
The problem being, its guns seem something akin to tier 3 or 4, whilst dual quad torpedo tubes are way overpowered for that. I suppose the IJN CL line could follow in game Kitakami's model and be edge-of-detection stealth torpedo cruisers, but I'm not sure where to place the Agano itself, in terms of its tier. So I had a couple of questions for the community.
-
How do you think these RL stats can be best balanced in-game? Do you consider Kitakami's model and playstyle viable for a line of non premium ships?
-
What other ships would you expect to see in the IJN CL line? Nagara, Sendai, Oyodo? Which tier would you implement them in?

Which IJN cruiser to talisman, Agano or Furutaka?
Grinding IJN line after being disillusioned with Royal Navy CLs, don't get me wrong they are great but the MM fucks it bigly. 7/10 games at 5.0 I was uptiered to 6.0 and get blapped by BBs 3 mins into the game. So I moved on to the IJN to embrace ramming planes into ships to entertain myself.
So I am at a crossroads now that I have grinded out Tier 3 IJN and want to move on to bigger ships. So which is more "economical" to talisman and which is more versatile? I like Agano's look+AA more but Furutaka ain't bad.

I'm fairly confident in saying that we all know what a cruiser is. Now, let us entertain the idea of an un-cruiser. With 69 (nice) 2A37 gatlings onboard, the "Fuck you *uncruises your missile" Class was designed with the sole purpouse of fucking over any and all ballistic missiles there are.
