I found a new copy of acid rap at a local record shop. I was stoked but when I listened to it, “Juice” said the same thing as what chance says on Spotify. “Hey couldn’t get it cleared in time…” I found this to be really odd that he would include that on the record.

I this a legit record from chance or some bootleg?

Both of these are NM/NM, still Sealed and with no damage/creases/etc. (I never rate M/M no matter what). Stored in protective poly sleeves inside a semi-rigid box set protector ever since I got them. I figure if I haven’t opened them by now, I never will, and they need to go.

VG/VG. It’s a boot so it’s already not top tier sound quality, and I also do not know the origin of it so I’m playing it safe. Looks great though, and the yellow translucent/swirl is nice and I’ve played it a handful of times and have no real complaints. Found at a local shop’s used/open section. Also stored in mofi sleeves and a poly protector.

Paid about $50, just want to cover that cost so I’ll sell it for edit: $42.

I know when it’s independent it can be a minute before things ship out anyone got experience ordering from chance raps ?

Bought these records a year ago when I didn't have a proper vinyl setup so never got around to actually spinning them. Right now though, need a little cash on hand instead. Chance The Rapper Records

Think about the song "Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida" by the band Iron Butterfly. The song was originally supposed to be "In The Garden of Eden" but the singer for the band drank a whole gallon of booze and by the time he thought to ask a studio dude to transcribe the lyrics for him he was slurring and mispronouncing everything.

So the song turned into "Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida" which is total nonsensical gibberish. Yet people in the 1960s ate it up (of course, most of the people listening to it were also high on something, so that likely had a contribution to their enjoyment of the song).

Now think about Mumble Rap.

A good chunk of these artists get totally blitz'd on something, whether it be Lean (Codeine & Sprite with a candy in it to offset the gross taste) or Mollies or Percosets, or whatever else these people dabble in - they get in the booth and just say whatever and the studio techies record it and throw on some Auto Tune and try to piece together a song from all the mumbles and grunts.

It's basically the same thing as 1960s Hippy Music - "Psychedelia" or whatever.

The studio techie for Iron Butterfly heard "Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida" ....

When I listen to Playboi Carti - " Flatbed Freestyle" I hear "KEE-LEE-LEEN, WHERE MY PAINT?"

I don't know what the actual lyrics are unless I go look it up... and chances are the dude who was writing down the "words" don't hear em' any better than I can.

But people think this stuff "slaps" - same as hippies in the 60s thought "Inna-Gadda-Da-Vida" was "far out, cooool maaaan!"

I'm kinda new to this subreddit so people might've asked this before, but do you guys prefer Acid Rap or Coloring Book. I am definitely on the side of CB but I would love to hear other people's opinions and their favorite tracks!

The worst part about this question is that apparently chano might have chose to do a Bieber verse instead of the Bino verse from what ive heard and not his recent good Bieber verse haha

Personally my opinion switches every day on this. While I do think coloring book is objectively a better more cohesive album, acid rap is such a fun, bright, and exciting project. I honestly think it is hard to compare the two. What do y’all think?

This was pretty weird. I had bought earls available discography in vinyl from a friend for a great price and I just listened to srs and there was no other cover in my collection that was looking as crazy a some rap songs. And I have a pretty big collection. Wanna know if anyone else had an experience like this because it was oddly specific to srs
