A list of puns related to "Accessibility (transport)"
Hello, Iβm a Design student from the UK and as part of a Design Report module, Iβm looking at general insights about how inclusively designed and accessible UK public transport is for the disabled population in the country.
-What are some shortcomings at stations/on the modes of transport that stop you from travelling?
-What are some features do you think should be implemented that could improve the experience of disabled people travelling but are currently not? ( this could include be beacons or visual versions of audio loops at stations, step-free access etc.)
Any sort of insight or information is greatly welcomed!
Thank you
Hi everyone,
My name is Tim, and I am a Master of Engineering student at The University of Melbourne. Under guidance from the University, my team is working on an industry sponsored project alongside SNC-Lavalin. SNC-L is a global engineering consultancy company, whose primary interest is in the transportation sector in Australia.
The project seeks to propose ways in which current and future public transport vehicles can better accommodate autistic people and those with sensory processing disorder. We are looking for people who would be interested in sharing their experiences and the challenges they face in public transport settings, but also more generally in busy public areas. Of course, anything related to experiences with autism would be equally as valuable.
If you would like to help us out, feel free to private message me, so we can discuss things in greater detail. Your stories and insights would be extremely valuable in helping us create an equitable public transport experience for everybody!

Hi everyone freshman matriculating into an RC located in UTown this year. Iβve been doing abit of research and Iβve realized how there wasnβt really any great transportation accessibility that I could find from the internet.
So can I ask,
How do people living in UTown usually travel to FASSβs blocks?
Which MRT and Mall do people living in UTown normally go to as the nearest?
How is the transport accessibility like in terms of bus stops and all, are they far?
Thank you for reading and Iβd appreciate the inputs! :)

For all of the Alina fans here, I just thought to share some insight. Iβm Russian and these are some of my observations. Being disabled in Russia is not like it is in the West. For all of the glaring social problems in Russia, accessibility and the way people with disabilities are treated is something that has always stuck outβ¦
You would think that a country with such a large number of veterans that participated in WWII that provisions would be made to cater to people that required mobility equipment. Sadly not the case. Instead of focusing on accessibility, people with disabilities are locked away out of public view. Post war all of the disabled veterans were taken away to isolated locations and put into institutions. Look up Stalinβs Samovars for further reading.
All of the buildings you see are grim Commie blocks which do not have elevators. The ones built for party members obviously did, and so do the ones built in more recent years. But unless youβre well off you end up in a shitty old building without an elevator. If you are a wheelchair user best case scenario you get a ground floor apartment. Where you will still have to use stairs to get outside. And thereβs no ramps either. However there are these metal slide things intended for prams, but definitely not wheelchairs. Which kind of tells you everything you need to know about our society.
Parents who give birth to a child with a disability are strongly encouraged to give the child up. I was born in 1991 and one of my childhood friends born the same year sustained some brain damage during birth. He had developmental delays and because of this his motherβs family and the state fought tooth and nail to have him institutionalisedβ¦Her husband left her and she had a huge falling out with her family for keeping a disabled child, which was considered shameful and not socially acceptable. In the 1990s folks. Unfortunately when we were 6, his mother took her own life because of the lack of social support for her son and the stigma of raising a disabled child in Russia. After that my friend was in and out of institutions and we lost touch finally when we were in our teens because his family sent him away somewhere and it was no longer talked about. And I still think about him and wonder what his life is like. My family tried to reconnect with him but at that point the family member who had custody had died and the neighbour who told us did not know where he had been sent. This is unfortunately the realit

I am a product design student doing a project on improving the accessibility of public transport in London and I thought this could be a good place to come to learn about peopleβs real lived experiences.
In light of recent criticisms of the accessibility of London public transport, I would like to start a discussion; what are your personal experiences of using public transport in London? What do you think of the current services and facilities on offer? And where do you think there is room for improvement?
It would also be very helpful if you could fill out this short survey with more specific questions: https://forms.gle/nvWLeR39kvqKYL838
I am very interested to hear your stories and opinions

Hi guys, new to renting in Sydney and I'm trying to work out what suburb to live in. I am reliant fully on public transport/ cycling currently, and I need to be able to get to Five Dock and Marrickville for work regularly, with a weekly trip to Macquarie for study, and the occasional trip around Sydney for sport. And I'm on that student budget. Any recommendations for a suburb near the city/ inner west that is easy to travel to and from?
