A list of puns related to "1961 Nfl Season"
Bill Edwards lead things out in 1941-42 and it'd be nearly 20 years later until we got Bill McPeak from '61-'65.
Luckily the following year we had Bill Austin to take over from '66-'70, and it was in 1971 that we had our first and only year so far without a Bill.
Then in 1972 Bill Peterson would get the streak going until today for the Oilers--he only lasted just over a year, going 1-13 in his first year and 0-5 the next.
Bill Arnsparger would come in the following year for the NY Giants, and amazingly in his last year Bill Johnson would come in and be the lone Bill rep until 1978.
Then finally a plethora of Bills would come in including Walsh, Parcells, Cowher, and Belichick--who today is the lone Bill in the league and we could go Bill-less if he ever decides to step down without a Bill in waiting.
Complete list:

Unfortunately no head coach has ever taken the spot at Buffalo.
Fantastic topic to bring up at the Thanksgiving table.
I'm posting this for a few reasons:
PFF posted a patently ridiculous tweet anointing Kyle Pitts as a top 5 TE in the NFL already. While Pitts is probably up there with the highest graded TE prospects ever, putting a rookie TE that high on the list is crazy. Also, not only is Ditka the only rookie TE to surpass 1,000 yards, but he's also the only rookie TE to surpass 900 yards. The second highest on this list is Jeremy Shockey, with 894 yards.
No, receiving is not all there is to a TE's game. Blocking is obviously a big part of it too. So let's look at the blocking grades assigned by PFF to rookies from early TE draft picks (yes, I understand the irony of bashing PFF above and then citing their blocking grades here).
2019: TJ Hockensen (60.5 grade), Noah Fant (52.0 grade)
2018: Hayden Hurst (66.4 grade)
2017: OJ Howard (61.4 grade), David Njoku (66.4 grade), Evan Engram (62.1 grade)
2015, 2016: No TE's selected Round 1
2014: Eric Ebron (57.0 grade)
In all likelihood, Pitts is going to have a limited impact as a rookie, both in receiving and in blocking. I conclude that Roger Podacter wasn't murdered, but PFF's mind was.
The 2-7 Bills have scored 96 points and conceded 241 points. The 1-8 Miami Seahawks of 1946 had scored 94 points and conceded 245 points; the 0-9 Washington Redskins of 1961 had scored 68 points and conceded 245 points.

Shots fired.
Three 8-8 seasons, and has secured at least an 8-8-1 record this year.
He's likely to shatter the record set by Randy Moss in 2007 (385.3 pts) Antonio Brown in 2015 (388.2 pts) Jerry Rice in 1995 (414 pts) in the next 3 games (including the additional game starting this season).
The only cases where a WR was the highest scoring player in a season since 1970 (in PPR)?
Antonio Brown in 2014 and 2015.
Andre Johnson in 2008.
Jerry Rice in 1993, 1987, and 1986.
That's it.
And now Kupp in 2021 so far. White Rice is having an amazing season, and goddamn I wish I had him in any of my leagues lmao.
P.S - Jerry Rice was outrageous.
P.S.S (or P.P.S?): Source for highest fantasy seasons by WRs. Though this list is only from 1997, silly CBS. It doesn't include a bunch of seasons by Jerry Rice, Randy Moss and others. This is a better list, but for standard scoring.
Edit: Some corrections. My title is wrong. It's not the 7th highest in history, but since 1997. Oops.
Edit 2: Correction: Highest fantasy season for WR in PPR is Jerry Rice with 414 points in 1995. Only reason he wasn't #1 that year was because Emmitt Smith had 414.8 points. Simply absurd.
The Tennessee Titans have now used an 89 players this season, by far an NFL record (next closest was the infamously injured 2020 49ers and the 2019 Dolphins at 84 each). The crazy thing? The Titans are actually getting pretty healthy now relative to the average NFL team at this point in the season. But just because they are getting healthy now doesn't change the fact that the Tennessee Titans have had an absolutely absurd amount of injuries that they have had to overcome this season. I posted this list at about the halfway point in the season and decided I should re-post an updated version of the list with one narrative in mind: Mike Vrabel is the clear choice for COTY. This list has somehow managed to get more ridiculous since it was first posted. At the end of the post I have written the argument for why Mike Vrabel should be the 2021 NFL Coach of the Year.
###Offense (21 Players):
RB 1 (Derrick Henry): 8 games missed due to injury (IR).
RB 2/KR (Darrynton Evans): 15 games missed due to injury and is out for the season (IR).
RB 3 (3rd down back) (Jeremy McNichols): 2 games missed due to injury.
FB 1 (Khari Blasingame): 5 games missed due to injury.
FB 2 (Tory Carter): 6 games missed due to injury (yes the Titans have 2 fullbacks on the roster and they somehow both missed the Rams game) (IR).
WR 1 (AJ Brown): 4 games missed (basically 5, left early in the first quarter vs the Colts week 3, did not have a catch) due to injury. Also only played 52% of the snaps against Houston in a game where he was desperately needed but left with an injury.
WR 2 (Julio Jones): 7 games missed (plus several 2nd halves) due to injury and COVID. He is currently healthy but missed the Dolphins game with COVID.
WR 3/KR (Marcus Johnson): 9 games missed due to injury and is out for the season (IR).
WR 4/PR 1 (Chester Rogers): 1 game missed due to injury.
WR 5/KR (Cam Batson): 12 games missed due to injury and is out for the season (IR).
WR 7 (Racey McMath, mainly a special teamer but is playing on offense a lot more lately due to injuries): 6 missed games due to injury (IR).
TE 1 (Geoff Swaim): 1 game missed due to injury.
TE 2 (really a slot receiver but listed as a TE) (Anthony Firkser): 2 games missed due to injury
