A list of puns related to "Whitsun"
I was away from London for the first Whitsun so this is my first time encountering all of this lore. Would love other's thoughts and takes. Heavy Whitsun and mild general spoilers ahead.
I feel as though it's fairly obvious that the eggs come from the Bazaar, which feels obvious mainly through the lore from percipient eggs, so perhaps that was still a matter of speculation last year. Eggfall appears in the Tragedy Procedures, so at the very least the Bazaar and its servants know of the phenomenon and it has some relation to the Bazaar.
Aged eggs had the Red Sceince used on them to artificially age them (flying dinosaurs and extinct oxen).
Scarlet eggs had the Shapeling arts used on them to make them more Rubbery (not sure what the lyrebird connection is, but the iguana tree follows).
Percipient eggs are revealed through lab experimentation to be closest to whatever laid them. The squirrels and spindlewolves which hatch from them are all chitinous and seem very likely to be what you would get if you crossbred a space crab with a rodent and a canine.
Though I can't remember where, I found text this year theorizing that whatever was laying these eggs was doing so out of an instinct of self defense. Does the Bazaar feel threatened? By what? At first I was thinking it could be a fear of (railway spoilers) >!the Creditor!<, but that came apart when I remembered that >!the Masters are hiding the issue from her and when she finds out she deals with it at breakneck speed. Which she should get more credit for, honestly!<. Regardless, there are some tie ins with that storyline, as the Bazaar is most certainly fulfilling it's side of the bargain to those of us who >!minted lacre-imbued coins!<.
Failing that theory, what are yours? Curious to see everyone's thoughts. Additionally, throw in any general Whitsun lore not covered or you'd like to touch on.
So, Whitsun has finally begun and I noticed some new things:
That's all for now. If you noticed anything else you're free to write it down.
Hello, new player here. I managed to fully invigorate an aged egg. Now I am wondering if it is best to hatch it or to turn it into clothing.
Looking at the wiki, the clothing bonus looks better, but I'm wondering if I will regret not having a companion (and perhaps the companion slot gets less use, making it better)
Opinions and recommendations welcome.
Greetings, greetings!
Here's the sheet which I hope some may find helpful.
Thanks!
EDIT: Updated for this year's event! Thanks again for Aleggseiβs Google document for providing all the data required for the update!
EDIT 11th May: Updated the end event date, cleared all my notes and added a link to Doc's great sheet.
The Goosey Gazette brings you a special treat!
Coming from a denomination that never spoke about the Holy Spirit, much less Pentecost, I must say, I haven't had much experience with hymns for this third great feast, besides "Come Thou Holy Spirit Come." Which ones should I check out?
bought 280 fates
hatched every eggs and made all clothes
Buying percipient eggs and researching them to get Parabolan apples
Changing them into Ivory Humerous and publishing whitsun edition of newspaper
Rinse and repeat.
I'm making a list of things that would be a pain to get without seasonal events, and I'm kind of on the fence for these two, since I haven't unlocked a stable farm for them as yet. Are they used in bulk anywhere?
Also, the alt success gives Sabretooth skull and Jurassic Femur.
On the list:
Bessemer ingots
Nightsoil of the Bazaar
Red Science cp
Shapeling arts cp
Nodule of Trembling amber
Hello delicious friends, this will be the first Whitsun for the group I brought to the Neath and myself too. Is there anything we should prepare for/know ahead of time about Whitsun or do you all recommend going in blind? Almost all of us are POSI at this point if this changes anything, and none of us are Seekers, yet. We know literally nothing about Whitsun besides Eggs are kinda important.
I know there are records of people keeping their Nomen going until late April, so... a few more weeks past that, I guess? Mordaine, Alan, other fancy high end players, have you considered trying it? And in terms of prep, with Airags now available by painting, are we at a point where the only card limitation is one Portly Sommelier card per Tears?
I'd love to get some unique quality by feeding my Noman to the Apicus Club ;)
