Fun fact, the 82nd ,101st and 1st Cav were SLDF formations that survived the Amaris-Civil War and left with the Exodus.
The 82nd Royal Jump Infantry Division (The All-Americans) was stationed in Capra in the Draconis Combine and stuck to their roots with infantry parachuting out of aircraft and mechs jumping from dropships. In game, they would get a bonus to initiative when outnumbered.
The 101st Jump Infantry Division (The Screaming Eagles) were stationed on Armington in the Federated Suns right next to the Taurian border. They were a favorite for the 2768 Martial Olympiad, their mech brigade were experts in combat drops, and had one of the most elite pathfinder units in the Inner Sphere.
The 1st Royal Mechanized Infantry Division (The First Team) was the most highly skilled mechanized infantry division in the SDLF. They were stationed on Sinope in the Draconis Combine and would often get the best equipment from Terra.
The 1st Infantry Division (The Big Red One)... gets the short end of the stick. They were stationed on Braunton in the Draconis Combine. They also had a brigade of mechs, but also had additional heavy and assault armor regiments and artillery regiment to support the two infantry brigades. However... while the other three divisions survive the Amaris-Civil War, the Big Red One gets destroyed in 2765 during the New Vandenberg Uprising.
