A list of puns related to "Air Assault"
Title, the packing list I got said I have to bring a ruck listed under the βissuedβ category, but didnβt specify if I could bring one I wasnβt issued. I got issued the large ruck, but I bought my own Medium ruck that I use for company rucks/PT all that fun shit.
My first line doesnβt know if Iβd get shit for it or not, and Iβm not trying to get dropped on Day 0 for not following the packing list.
Basically I am trying to ascertain why the US Army is so invested in a school and operational capability that doesn't seem to make sense.
First up - Air Assault School/Badge. It is my understanding that the school mostly teaches students things that are also taught in Pathfinder school - i.e. rigging slingloads and setting up HLZs (Pathfinder goes further in also teaching for Airborne operations). The other aspect is teaching proper exit techniques such as fast-roping and repelling. However, to my knowledge the 101st never conducted an Air Assault operation utilizing any of the exit techniques in the past 20 years of the GWOT, they did not conduct an Air Assault into Iraq in 2003, and the Rangers, who have conducted fast-rope infiltration are not required to attend Air Assault school prior to doing so (the same can't be said for Airborne - no wings, no jump). Furthermore, every light infantry unit in the US Army is air mobile when given helicopters and is able to conduct the same mission with zero additional training. So the school badge teaches skills that are also taught at another school and the other skills could easily be taught to anyone (and likely are) with a much smaller time and effort commitment.
That leads to the next question - why maintain an Air Assault division? If all of the above is true, why is there an entire division technically dedicated to something that all divisions can accomplish and no additional training is technically necessary? Not only that, but the entire division isn't even supported with an Air Assault capability unless several additional combat aviation brigades are attached (a standard CAB could maybe move an entire battalion's line companies in a single lift). I believe at it's height the 101st Airborne Division, between its two special aviation brigades, had enough helicopter assets to move an entire brigade in a single lift. Furthermore, even if the division was supported by enough helicopters, or even a brigade, the deployment of those assets is a logistics nightmare on par with moving an Armored brigade. And, again, when deployed to Iraq in 2003 the 101st did not conduct an Air Assault but rather a ground assault in vehicles.
I'm pretty stoked because that was my first choice on the Assignment Satisfaction Key, since anything is better than Fort Wainwright, let alone Alaska. Also, wife and I planned on living in the Tennesee area anyway, even after I ETS in 2024.
However, call me dumb I know, but I didn't know Campbell was an Air Assault unit until just after I received my soft orders a few weeks ago. Now, I'm excited because that just means I gotta force myself back in shape and it'll look good when I'm done with the Army, among other cool accolades, but I'm still pretty intimidated since there's alot of work I need to do to physically prepare. However, I've been told even if I didn't want to, i essentially have no choice. What should I ultimately expect when it comes to this when I report?
Hey guys, just a little nervous about AA and was wondering any tips/tricks.
Taking into account how even hollow point bullets are seen as a minor inconvenience to the students and there are thousands of schools which students who carry around all sorts of firearms, it will be the bloodiest conflict in modern history
So, let us set this to take place between Episodes III and IV, when the Empire is at its strongest.
The Empire can not commit all or even most of its forces to this assault, many of their Star Destroyers and ground forces being bogged down in re-conquering Separatist worlds and fighting against the new rebellion.
The force they are able to commit is still significant, however.
I will say Imperial strategists have watched Earth for half a human year to gain some understanding over their military forces, style of combat and threat level.
They are not going into this blind.
Can the Earth hold out? Who wins?
My boyfriend is currently on his leave from the Army, of course I've missed him so much and I'm glad he's back but I'm over this particular thing. Not too long before he came back. He went to Air Assualt School. Apparently, there's this little tradition they have where they use the term "Air Assualt" for a basic response and just use it a lot.
He's brought this back home with him and he says it all the time. I hear "Air Assualt" at least 3 dozen times a day. And I'm sick of it. Yesterday was the last straw, I wasn't feeling the best so I had him do a few things for me, when I asked him if he finished, his response was "Air Assualt." I snapped after that and yelled at him to stop saying it and that I would stop talking to him if he said it again.
He then got mad at me and said that he wasn't doing it on purpose and that I was overreacting. We're still kind of mad at each other over it. I just asked him if he could stop saying it because it's annoying me. I don't think that's a ridiculous request. AITA?
R5: What the title says. It was my favorite thing, to just sweep through russia with my 40km/h speed Helicopter Divisions.
Anyone with Air Assault questions, I graduated today and can try to answer any you have.
Hello there!
Im thinking of getting into Legion (as in, we're definitely getting into Legion) and I think the LAAT/LE is one of my favorite models in any game. So I made a sort of Republic Air Assault/Recon list. Do y'all think this will be a fun time to play, or is it so off base that I'll hate my life playing it?

I know that there are different Air Assault schools besides the one at Fort Campbell, but when I looked it up on Google, I really couldn't find anything. Does anyone have a list or something? Thanks
