A list of puns related to "Škoda Octavia"
Does it make sense to buy a Škoda Octavia III with the new three-cylinder petrol engine with a liter volume? We recently argued with an acquaintance about it, and I said it was complete bullshit.
We just bought a used 2016 Škoda Octavia with 100.000km. Everything works fine except the heating. The fans blow air, but the air is cold. Even on longer drives when the car surely reaches hot temperatures, there is no heat coming to the cabin.
Is there any DIY fix for this, or should I just take it back to the dealer and have them fix it for me?
Thank you for all your help and advice
Hey all,
Quick question
Been looking at petrol cars and wanted to get some feedback about Skoda Octavia 2010-2012 petrol engines as looking to get a car £2.5 - 4k
The engines that i see the most are
As it's for a potential city family car, MPG and engine reliability are most important. Wouldn't be racing it anywhere.
I presume it would be better to take a bigger engine for the estate.
Looking at some manuals and I have seen that timing belt should be changed every 5 years or 112k miles, is that correct?
Currently debating to buy Skoda Octavia or Toyota Avensis 1.6 or 1.8 petrol. Either as Estate or Hatch/saloon
Any input about these engines would be much appreciated.
As the title says. I'm planing on buying a 2-3 years old car with up to 40.000 km, 1.6, and up to 16.000 euro. I think a car like this is still practically new but the price decreased significantly. I live in Europe (Croatia) so I plan to search for a car in Germany or Austria. I was warned not to buy Italian used cars, not sure why though. My question is what should I look after, is this car known for some problems, what I should get, what I don't really need of equipment and is there just to up the price. Any general advice on buying a used Škoda Octavia (probably Ambition). Thank you in advance for any advice
Hey
So I've been recently looking for a newer car, and today I noticed a used 2019 Škoda Octavia HB 1.6 TDI with (I think) 5-speed manual. It has the Ambition trim level, with also heated front seats, something called "extra cabin heater for diesels", and some other things.
I think it comes at an okay price, at 15 900 euros, when compared with other stuff that's on the market (1.0 TSI octavias and what not). They also give you both winter and summer tires, and it has warranty until the end of 2024. It has only driven around 13 000 km's.
The reason why it's relatively cheap, is probably because it's been in an accident at the end of last year. Nevertheless, from the photos from the dealership, it looks fine, so it probably got a good job done (I plan on checking the car out soon).
Coming from a 2008 Honda Civic HB, I'm wondering about several things.
What should I think of the 1.6 TDI? Is it relatively reliable or should I be mindful of something?
How is the cabin/road noise? One thing that's been bothering me with the Civic, is that on older, imperfect roads the noise can get quite loud and tiresome.
How is it for a taller person? I'm 1.99 cm tall, so I haven't quite seen anyone my size sit in a skoda. They do seem to be quite roomy though, from what I've seen.
Most of my driving is in the city. Once or twice a month I do some longer distances. For comparison, in 2-3 years I've driven around 40 000 km's. Also keeping in mind that here diesel usually costs less or is equal with petrol prices (currently 0.999€ vs 1.229€), and there aren't any special "diesel taxes".
Should I perhaps consider a petrol car? At the same price point other Škodas are all 1.0 TSIs, which don't seem to be the best engines. Nevertheless, those would perhaps be more suitable for my driving. If the TSI's aren't too reliable, should I go for something else entirely perhaps (a different brand altogether)?
Hopefully someone can answer my many questions!
