The XM25 CDTE fires 25 mm grenades that are set to explode in mid-air at or near the target. A laser rangefinder in the weapon is used to determine the distance to the target. The user can manually adjust the detonating distance by up to 10 feet (3.0 m) shorter or longer; the XM25 automatically transmits the detonating distance to the grenade in the firing chamber. The grenade tracks the distance it has traveled by the number of spiral rotations after it is fired,[11] then detonates at the proper distance to produce an airburst effect. These features make the XM25 more effective than traditional grenade launchers at the task of hitting targets that are behind cover or dug into the ground. (via Wikipedia)

Since the XM25 is the model I'm gonna assume it is safe to say the new grenade launcher will act like its real-life counterpart. So its best used to shoot it above or near the target and you can self detonate the grenade at will.

In my last post I spoke about some cool, futuristic guns that exist in real life that feel like it belongs in cyberpunk genre. Well, I missed a few guns so here we go.

• Armatix iP1: A .22LR smart pistol that uses RFID identification system so only the owner who wears the RFID wrist band can fire the weapon. This is something out of James Bond and is prone to hacking, but hacking is a big part of shadowrun and cyberpunk in general.

• USFA ZiP .22: A really awful gun in real life, but fun looking for cyberpunk games. Its a .22LR chambered pistol with a bizarre blocky design made up mostly of plastic. The idea was to make a very cheap modular gun. Now with 3D printing tech plastic guns are becoming a real possibility, so who knows, cheap, plastic guns like these might be something used a lot by gangers and assassins alike who don't want to dispose of their fancy expensive gun after killing a VIP.

• XM 556 microgun: A hand held minigun that fires 5.56 NATO rounds (same rounds used by AR-15). Its small, portable and has a ridiculous firing rate of 100 rounds per second. This is that perfect Christmas gift for your solo friend who likes heavy weapons. Thanks to /u/adzling for reminding me this exists.

• TrackingPoint precision guided rifle: This is basically a smartgun in real life allowing easy mode sniping. This technology has been in development for a while so by the time we reach 2070s we'll likely have some advanced smartguns not just for hunting rifles but perhaps for all guns.

• XM 42 Flamethrower: Not all cyberpunk guns need to look slick. The psychotic ganger's weapon of choice. Its small, portable, gnarly and looks like something a ganger might be able to make with the advanced

I guess the concept didn't work

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
