A list of puns related to "Wortley"
Does anyone happen to know what decade Wortley Rd S construction is supposed to be completed? 2040? 2190?...guesses?
Hi everyone! My partner and I are looking for a starter home in Wortley Village, closer to the North (Horton Street) side. During our search, weβve noticed that there are train tracks about 100-200 meters from a lot of the houses in this area. I think that these are the tracks with the Via Rail lines but not sure if freight also runs these tracks.
For anyone with experience living close to these tracks or any train tracks at all, I would really appreciate some advice or to hear about your experiences with the noise (horns, brakes, and engine sounds) or vibrations caused by trains!
Thanks a lot!
Hello friends. I'm looking to buy a house and have found a nice one in Wortley I really like, but I don't know much about the area. Driving around near Western Flatts Cliff Park it actually looks really nice and there are some fancy looking houses, but other than that I know nothing! Can anyone give me some advice and insights about it as an area to live? Thanks π
I've never seen a turkey in the city before and have no idea how it managed to find its way here.
Anyone know what's being filmed near Wortley? Road closed and film crew present today, though this sign has been up for about a week. I pass by on my walks every now and then.

Hi all - hope you are doing well in these stressful times.
I am considering a move to London. I am looking for a walkable neighbourhood (as in groceries, cafes, even hardware stores, those amenities within about a 15-20 minute walk at most) in a good school district, with nearby parks and playgrounds. I have narrowed my search down to Woodfield or Wortley. I would be very much interested in hearing your experiences and perceptions of those neighbourhoods to help me narrow things down further. I do have one particular concern that I would like to ask you knowledgeable folks about.
I understand that all cities have their own unique successes and challenges, and that one of the challenges facing London is the opioid crisis. I understand that the opioid crisis is a more acute challenge in London than the average community in Ontario, due to a number of systemic factors. I am sympathetic to those struggling with addiction, and am glad to hear that a permanent safe injection site near to downtown will be up and running by this fall. I believe this site will greatly help a lot of people.
I understand from my own, very limited research that, due to the opioid crisis, there have been concerns from Londoners about used hypodermic needles being found in public places, including parks and playgrounds. I have read about a youth baseball team having to sweep the park they use every day to remove needles, as the team was concerned about children accidentally getting jabbed by a used needle lying in the grass.
On top of your general thoughts about Woodfield and Wortley, would you say that coming across used hypodermic needles in public places, including parks and playgrounds, is a common occurrence in those neighbourhoods?
Again, I want to make it clear that I am absolutely not stigmatizing people for struggling with addictions. We all have our demons, and for some of us those demons are simply more visible than for others. Again, I am glad that the city is putting efforts into a safe injection site to address this crisis.
Thank you very much for your time and effort in responding to this post. I hope you have a great rest of your day.
Weβre a gay couple with 2 young kids. Which is more progressive and community / family oriented? Iβd like to send the kids to Lord Roberts. Wortley seems to have a lot of renters and Iβm worried about property value in the future. I grew up in Old North, many encourage me to move here, but it seems to be more conservative and a bit of a sleepy vibe? I appreciate your thoughts!
I got an offer for a one bedroom flat in Lenton and Wortley, but there are no pictures of said flat.
Iβd really like to know how much space I can expect to have, the general layout of the rooms, kitchen utilities etc.
If any on yβall have pictures Iβd really appreciate them.
Thanks Iβm advance if you do π
