A list of puns related to "Windsurfer"
I was at Lysterfield lake every day for a week and Iβve watched a windsurfer zooming up and down the middle of the lake a couple of times. Can a kiteboarder do the same?
I love to see everyones pictures, videos and stories here. May all your weeks be windy and may there be many more to come!
I'm planning to move to Maui soon and I'd like to get back into windsurfing. It's been a couple of years since I've windsurfed, and I was never very good. I could occasionally pull off a water start, but never wanted to drop down to a smaller board and lose the safety net of being able to up haul if I got stuck. My equipment wasn't great either, which I think kind of held me back. So I'm wondering if Maui will be generally above my skill level, what with the open ocean and I assume lots of wind?
Hey I'm currently searching for a Freerace/race sail around 7.5m^2. I got offered a Duotone Warp 7.7 from 2019 but dont know if it's a good fit for me or if it is too difficult and hard to handle for me. I would say I'm an advanced windsurfer, I can plane through every other jibe and I'm generally quite sporty. However, I fear this sail could be too difficult for me to handle and with my 65kg maybe it's also too heavy?
Does anyone have some experience with the sail and can give me some insights?
Thanks a lot!
I inherited an old windsurfer from the 80's; the tendon attaching the mast to the board is broken and I'm hoping that someone has some idea where I can find a replacement. I'm happy to DIY if someone could even identify the material...Any ideas?
I broke the mast base for my Original Windsurfer. The board has the following letters and numbers on it "WSF 24511 A484". I assume these are a serial number, does anyone have a resource where I can look them up and find more info on the exact board?
If anyone knows a company/person who still sells parts and/or fixes Original Windsurfers it would be a huge help in getting me and my brother back out on the water!
Pictures included as well. Thank you for any and all help in advance!

I am a new windsurfer who lives near the water in the SF Bay Area. Eventually I want to progress into windsurfing or wing-surfing on a foil. After speaking with an experienced windsurfer on a foil today, I am considering how to go about this. The experienced guy today said that I'd have to "unlearn" some of the things that I learned windsurfing to learn how to foil.
Here's my question: Should I work up through windsurfing on smaller and smaller boards before progressing to a foil or should I jump to a foil board now? It seems like I'll have to invest in a quiver of boards and sails to get experienced enough to ride a foil or I can buy the foil board now and learn on that.
Let's assume that I am a competent enough sailor to tack, jibe, and water start... (I'm not there yet but I am working on it!). I currently have a 160L board and a 5.4 sail but my kit is 20+ years old so it's very dated compared to what is on the market now.
Thanks for your advice.
I love that Avatar has become a running theme in the olympics, that show deserves all the love it gets and more
Found this board and trying to locate owner. If yours please DM and tell me what lake you lost on.
If no one claims could someone please help recomend a sail for a beginner for use on a Michigan inland lake. 190lb male
Thanks!

Longtime sailor, once upon a time surfer looking to deceive my wife by getting a SUP board that is actually yet another sailing craft. Is there any consensus on which is the best and/or cheapest board or company that does both reasonably well? I'm not especially discouraged by the idea of outgrowing the board, since I have kids to use it and probably not the time to really deep dive into the sport (I already have two sailboats).
I apologize if this subject has been covered already, but I didn't find anything in a search. If it's relevant, I'm in the Pacific Northwest and would be using it on lakes.
Thanks
So I've been windsurfing for around 1-2 months and I'm looking to upgrade my gear. I'd say i'm intermediate level looking to become advanced in the next few months. I'm currently on a cheap 5.4m^2 rig and I'm thinking of getting a 6.0 or a 6.5 sail with a better boom and lighter mast (carbon fibre one from what I've heard).
The rig I have now is a cheap beginner one and is apparently too heavy. I want a bigger sail as the area i live is usually light wind mostly around 10-15kts. Curious as to whether this a good decision or not?
I don't exactly know how masts and sails fit so I'm wondering if I buy a mast will I be able to buy a 6m sail now will it fit any mast and in the future will I be able to buy a 6.5/6.7 sail later without having to bu
I want to invest in good quality gear that will last me a while before my skills outpace it but also I don't want to buy expensive gear to find out its wrong. If anyone has any advice on first time buying equipment or useful info would be highly appreciated.
