Okay, so for those of you that don't know, Helltaker is this free steam game that got pretty popular. In it, you play as the Taker, a well-dressed man of muscle that solves puzzles and selects the right words to get these demon girls to join his harem.
Why does he do this? He had a dream about it.
How does he get to Hell? Not explored, probably punched the ground or something.
What does he have to offer these literal demons? He presents himself well, has a personality outside girls (he likes to play turn based strategy games), and he is shown to be quite the cook with his delicious chocolate pancakes.
While not really anime (made by a polish guy), it is heavily based off it. However, I have not found an anime like it. The Taker, even with how short the game is, is shown to be his own character. I, as a bi guy, would like to be with this hunk. He actually seems like a fun guy to hang with.
Instead, when I tried to ask this question in anime forums about things like it, I got the most milk toast protagonists. They're basic, offer no personality except for "no one likes me", and offer these girls nothing to fawn over. The worst was this show about an assassin school, and the MC is statutory raped by his female mentor (which was then used to justify how much of a Chad he was, because, of course fuckin weebs would).
I get that the harem genre is basically supposed to be a male power fantasy, but Helltaker puts EFFORT into its MC. It gives reasons why the girls like him. Even without the personality and just the design of a well-fit suit and a rose to go with, he's leagues above "Sweat Pants-kun" and "College Dropout-san".
That is my rant, but also, go play the game if you haven't. It's a quite fun few (or many) hours of puzzles. Story is limited cause its short, but highly recommended. Also free
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
