When you start walking like an Egyptian.
I hiked Cloud’s Rest yesterday starting from the Sunrise trailhead, and I was swarmed by mosquitos throughout the trail. I have counted at least 40 bites throughout my entire body and it is awful. I have a shaved head, so I also have a lot of bites on my head, neck, face, and literally everywhere else. I look like I have the plague. I used copious amounts of insect repellant but it didn’t really seem to deter them. I must taste really good! A warning to everyone, please prepare if you’re planning on hiking Cloud’s rest. Start your hike early, bring lots of repellant, wear a hat, and cover up your skin. This especially goes for those who have O type blood.
Also, because I have so many bites, I’m a little worried about disease, specifically West Nile. Can anyone shed some light on West Nile in Yosemite?
Also any help with getting rid of huge, inflamed mosquito bites? I have to see a lot of people tomorrow and I look super biblical.
