Beim Menschen verstehe ich ja zumindest noch, dass der Placebo-Effekt durchaus bei manchen Kleinigkeiten hilfreich sein kann, aber meine Katze starrt mich nur mit leerem Blick an, wenn ich sie frage, ob sie weiß, was Medikamente, Placebo oder Homöopathie sind. To have a Weltanschauung means to create a picture of the world and of oneself, to know what the world is and who I am. Taken literally, this would be too much. No one can know what the world is, just as little as can he know himself. But, cum grano salis, it means the best possible knowledge—a knowledge that esteems wisdom and abhors unfounded assumptions, arbitrary assertions, and didactic opinions. Such knowledge seeks the well-founded hypothesis, without forgetting that all knowledge is limited and subject to error.

I made this post back in December, asking if anyone would like to send cards to my loved ones.
Let me tell you, the amount of joy that has filled my household because of all you genuinely kind hearted people cannot be measured. You’ve lifted our spirits immensely!!! I waited to make this post as long as I could, as we were still receiving cards daily and then life got a little crazy so this comes much later than I had hoped, but I need to express my true gratitude. Every single card brought each one of us the biggest smile. All these days that we went out to the mailbox to find a sweet little surprise made that day so much better. I didn’t ask for cards myself and was was so shocked and incredibly touched by all that I received!! I was overwhelmed and brought to tears on more than one occasion. Honestly every member of my family cried at least once over some of the kind words and heartfelt wishes we read. But don’t worry, they were 100% happy tears! A few were definitely from laughter too!
I seriously cannot begin tell you how much this subreddit means to my loved ones and I. You all truly have such loving natures and beautifully kind hearts. You fully restored our faith in this world. For that I am forever grateful!

Zum Beispiel hat Internet Historian seinen Teil 2 von "The Varus" Serie vor ein paar Wochen veröffentlicht. Die Serie erzählt wieder wie sich alles mit Corona entwickelt hat. Alles in allem, sehr lustig. Heute aber habe ich einen Thread gelesen in welcher IH als Kryptofaschist bezeichnet wurde und das Video als "bias" abgestempelt wurde, da zwei Teile des Videos Spaß darüber gemacht haben was Holywood Stars an Idiotie gedreht haben und welche Fehler demokratische Politiker beim Lockdown gemacht haben. Dass Teil 1 sich über die 5G Proteste und Conspiracy Scheiße lustig gemacht hat, wird nicht erkannt. Und das war nur ein Video.
Besonders amerikanisch dominierte Subs scheinen immer engere Meinungskorridore zu haben. Es wird schon lächerlich. Politische Subs haben schon solche Qualität eingebüßt, dass sie wertlos für Diskussion sind.

I'll include my name next time, haha. I did get it apparently without a name, so now we know that works too! Crazy how you still get mail from people who passed away 20 years ago. My neighbor told me he still got mail from the last resident too, he stacked up all the letters nicely, went to the post office and 10 minutes later all mail by the previous resident was being sent back and future mail would be rejected under that name on that address. Guess the post office works more efficient than I thought here.
I agree with you 100% on LOTR and the Hobbit, in my world the Hobbit movies don't exist. ;) I saw Braveheart a long time ago, I liked it a lot! Although Reddit has ruined it a bit for me with a TIL that it's the most historically inaccurate movie ever made. I guess I just have to look past that and see it as pure entertainment, it did give me goosebumps the last time I watched it. I got kinda the same feeling as Gladiator when Russell Crowe proclaimed: “My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true Emperor Marcus Aurelius, father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife – and I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.” There are just some epic moments in movies like that, that give you goosebumps. Thanks for the recommendation!
TL;DR: Awesome card, baseball is cool, getting mail from old residents sucks, LOTR is the best, Hobbit movies suck, Braveheart gives me goosebumps.
