A list of puns related to "Velocipede"
It takes 20 min to get to college. Tiring walk. How to get there quick? Bicycle. But they get stolen, and they're not classy. Solution: penny farthing.
Charming? Check
Eye catching? Check
Hard to steal because too flashy? Check
Hard to steal because it looks horrible to ride? Check
But all of them cost so much. Won't help that I'm in Toronto, so most sellers in states will take forever to arrive.
So do you all have any advice on turning me into a true child of the Neath? I see online that there are somewhat cheap ones, but they look like bigwheels, and their wheels are but 75cm (30ish inches) or so tall.
Hi! I was wondering how it would look like if you built an old velocipede (with the huge front wheel and small back wheel) with modern mountain bike tires, brakes, telescope and other parts. The velocipede is completely unsuitable for mountain terrain, but you could see the nature from a higher seat :)

(In between writing another piece of the Imperial Histories, I decided to write a different, non-military fluff piece. I've always liked how unique it is that the Californian cultures get to use bicycles in warfare, so I decided to expand on that a bit.)
Ask a Californian what gives their Empire its wealth and power and you will get over a different answer each time. A sommelier from Napa would say it is the California weather, which allows farmers to grow a wide variety of crops throughout the year. A scholar in Irvine would argue that its power comes from knowledge, either the old lore preserved by the Golden State's oldest rulers or the new ones being rediscovered every day in the Yuusiis. A mercenary in Oakland would boast of the martial traditions of the Empire, while a functionary within the Imperial court would praise their bureaucratic system for California's prosperity. The merchant families and fisherfolk of Los Angeles and San Fransisco would claim the Empire's well-developed ports as the key to the Golden State's power, while a ranger from Yellowstone would say that the sea of trees is California's greatest asset.
The commoner, whether they be tennant farmer, artisan or scribe, would say that the Velocipede is California's Great Treasure, and I am inclined to agree.
A simple machine, composed of a small frame, a gear system and two wheels powered by its rider's pedaling, the velocipede is one of the precious few Pre-Event technologies still known to us today. While it cannot carry heavy loads like oxen carts, or move as swiftly as a Comanche-bred Mustang rider, it is much less costly to maintain and produce, and unlike the latter does not require years of training or a lifetime on the Plains to master.
The Velocipede has allowed the Empire's citizens a social mobility that is unheard of in the rest of the continent. It affords its citizenry a wider range of opportunities; it is not unheard of for a family in San Diego to travel to Fresno in search of better opportunities. The landowner-tennant relationship that is the basis of society in the rest of the continent is thus much diminished in the Golden State, and while a great many factors are in play that lead to California's unorthodox political system, the velocipede is most definitely one of them.
Knowledge of how to create velocipedes is regulated by the adherents of the school of Dunlop, a Cetic school dedicated to attaining enlightenment by emulating a pre-event class of warriors k
