“Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption.
I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine- the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke.
But in the spirit of commemoration, whereby those important events of the past usually associated with someone's death or the end of some awful bloody struggle are celebrated with a nice holiday.
I thought we could mark this November the 5th, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat. There are of course those who do not want us to speak.
I suspect even now, orders are being shouted into telephones, and men with guns will soon be on their way.
Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth.
And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression.
And where once you had the freedom to object, think, and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillence coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well, certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense.
Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now High Chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent.
Last night I sought to end that silence. Last night I destroyed the Old Bailey, to remind this country of what it has forgotten.
More than four hundred years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives.

To start off, I'm not sure if there's something everyone has missed or if it really is this time consuming. In most stat based games (mainly DnD) I play as a rogue and put absolutely nothing into strength. So when I started trophy hunting I was level 6 body at level 45, so no way to get to level 16 body for the Second Heart mod. Well now I have started a new game on easy just to plow through this last trophy and be done. However, turns out you need a street cred of 49. This is really ridiculous to have these requirements for a trophy. The street cred thing isn't a huge problem, but the required 16 body means you either have to know to save all of your attribute point so you can save, grab trophy, and load or you have to play as a character that builds body regularly. Having the street cred or the body would be a so much preferred requirement for this mod. If its street cred, my main game could get it, if it was body then its easy to grind 16 body from a new game. However, I feel that there should have been (unless I can't find its existance) a lower tier second heart mod that revives you with very low health and has a longer cooldown so it can be more obtainable for people like myself who couldn't care less that body exists. Do you think its more than fair to have a trophy with these specific requirements in a stat based rpg?
V for Vendetta is a fantastic graphic novel and one of my favorite movies. But seriously, the amount of Trump supporting morons thinking that Trump is like V and acting like the regime is like the Democrats drives me crazy. It's like, they literally explain that the villain is a far-right demagogue with an army of zealous supporters, letting people die from a virus and using the military to crack down on protesters, and every Youtube video about V for Vendetta is filled with people claiming the story is really about the Democrats taking power. These people are asked to wear a damn mask and they think they're living in a fucking dictatorship, not comprehending that the man they support is an even bigger authoritarian.
I know David called it a "piece of shit" in the Attack of the Clones commentary, but I was curious how the rest of you Blankies felt about it.
Personally, V for Vendetta was pretty big for me in that it was the first R movie my parents agreed to let me watch. For a good 3 years it was one of my favorite movies, and was my gateway into checking out the Wachowski's other works. I haven't seen it all the way through in a while, and I certainly don't think it would hold a candle to most of their other movies (it doesn't help that much like The Matrix, the iconography has been appropriated by some of the worst people on the internet) but it's one that I'll always love deep down.
Today is bonfire night in the UK. The night remembered when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the houses of parliament. He didn't succeed, he got caught just before the explosion. There's a line, i'm not sure who by that says Guy Fawkes was the most honest man ever to enter parliament, that rings true now more than ever and V for Vendetta is more relevant than it ever was. The irony is that the celebration is about Guy Fawkes getting caught..... I think in the future it will be remembered for the man trying to keep politicians honest. If you haven't seen V for Vendetta, whether you're from the UK or anywhere else, you should absolutely watch it. It's a fabulous study in what happens when politicians do what they want, albeit at the extreme end of the scale. And even if you ignore all the politics...it's a fucking awesome film.
Remember, remember, the fifth sixth of November.
