When I try to order through Ancestry it asks if I want the Health Department or the City Clerk version of the certificate - which would provide me with the most information about parents, addresses, occupations etc? I'm studying for my Checkride right now, and I can't understand what modifications need a special certificate.
According to 14 CFR 91.407, maintenance or alterations that substantially affects operation just requires that an appropriately certificated pilot flies the aircraft and checks to make sure everything works as it should.
So then what is an STC for? I thought you needed to get an STC whenever substantial modifications are made.
Also: if I'm correct, a standard airworthiness certificate is valid as long as the aircraft meets it's type design. So if you do something that puts the aircraft outside of it's type design, what then? Do you need an STC, and if you get an STC, do you need to get a new airworthiness certificate for it?

I am starting to learn about about SSL Certificates on Servers but before I get started I have some niggling queries I need answering. Are SSL Certificates used on servers the same as what we use on websites such as this one from Namecheap? Or, do servers require certain other SSL Certs to provide more security.
I feel the SSL cert could just be one of those or even a Lets Encrypt one done through Linux, but wnated clarification? Also is it always good practise to go with a SSL Cert with a high warranty as well?

Looking at an aircraft that has a lyco O-360, which is the engine on the type cert.
Say the engine is to be overhauled, would it be be allowed to install an IO360, without the aircraft becoming an experimental? There is no STC available.
