Buzzing lights danced around the dormant constructor drones, bringing them to life with a happy whirr. Immediately they got to work.

Two drones began to assemble a beacon out of parts they retrieved from cavities within their own bodies. The third drew a meter radius circle on the floor around it. The entire process took only a few minutes.

The Odyssey crew watched from the other side of the holoscreen.

"Yes that should work perfectly," Lulu observed, in Cryslish, once they were finished. "Please stand away from the circle and we will begin the displacement."

Suddenly the beacon at the center of the circle collapsed in on itself until it disappeared. At the same time it exploded into existence, as though blooming outward from a single point, in the Odyssey's bridge.

"That was gratifying to watch," observed Esoteric-Fact.

"Your technology is most impressive," added Sudden-Feeling-of-Hope.

"I would call that a successful test," said Lulu. "Stand-by for our package."

This time a small red box was displaced through space/time only to explode into being inside the circle on the other end.

"The little silver triangle is an environmental field emitter," explained Lulu. "It will affix itself to anything you press it against until removed. Once active it will project a 2-meter radius field around which will first scan and then recreate the exact conditions of the air around you at the time of activation. It will replenish atmospheric gases, maintain temperature and air density, it even regulates the relative gravity. It will allow you to survive inside our ship without the need for any kind of protective shell."

Several dozen of the tiny lights, these ones with a subtle green tint to them, lifted the sides of the box to open it, then flew inside and retrieved the field emitter. A large cluster of them flew it over the Minds' chosen representative Viridescent-Glow. Once they had attached it to Viridescent-Glow's hover-platform they returned to aimlessly buzzing around the strange alien's stalk-like body.

"We included a few of them just in case you needed more. We're ready to receive your shuttle as soon as you want to come over."

"Why don't you use your displacement technology to simply move me over to your ship?" asked Viridescent-Glow.

When I was in 4th grade I'd watched a low budget South Indian horror film called 13B in which the protagonist's family moves into an apartment with the number "13B" and bad things start happening to them and one by one they all turn insane and get murdered by malovelant spirits. The movie had strong symbolism around the unluckiness of the number 13 and I developed an irrational fear of it.

I changed schools in 5th grade and the route number for my school bus was, guess what "13". This made me uncomfortable because I had to travel to school everyday in that bus knowing how unlucky that number was and even though I did not say it out loud to anyone because it was so silly I hated it.

Then in 6th grade I discovered Taylor Swift during her RED era and I discovered how she owned the number 13 from her twitter handle "taylorswift13" to the temporary tattos on her hands and this completely changed my perspective. I thought, if Taylor likes that number it can't be that bad! And slowly I got rid of my fear and ended up having some of the best memories of my school life in that bus for the next 4 years.

So as the title says, I built a [[kydele]] // [vial smasher]] deck with the main wincons being [[triskaidekaphobia]] and [[Triskaidekaphile]]. Here is the deck currently.

I know I can add [[necropotence]] and [[tree of perdition]] but I want to play this a few times before adding them. Necro is expensive and tree singles only on person out. Maybe good in heads up or as a last resort.

I tried to focus around card draw and dealing a bunch of damage, using extra turns and adding upkeeps in order to win the game. There's also alternate wincons like [[atemsis all seeing]]. I've goldfishes it a few times but I think it's a deck that works better with opponents.

Any thoughts about this deck? Suggestions?

EDIT: I am looking for a medium power level, and not really looking to add infinites, but I would like to make this deck at least able to do stuff while I get my wincons online. I think there is enough action and card draw where I can dig reliably. I am also thinking I will probably either switch out mystical tutor for [[Grim Tutor]] or switching another card for Grim Tutor. Any thoughts about either situation?

I am pretty happy with the current price of the deck, and most of the cost is mana base (damn 4 colors).

My friend has a fear of the number thirteen. It’s so bad that when they go to the store, if their total at checkout has the number 13 in it, they will either add something to the items they’re purchasing or take something off. Recently they’ve been waking up and usually no matter what the hour is, the minute is always :13. I’ve asked “What if you just didn’t check your phone?” And their response was “I did that once. Eventually I had to check the time and the number was still there, then it flipped to the real time.”

So for example “Let's say it was 2:40. My phone would display 2:13, then a second or two later, show 2:40.” Their phobia has gotten so bad that they wake up and cry. They’ve gotten to the point where they’re mentally choosing life or death. I’ve asked how their phobia came to be and it’s just for superstition. They’re very superstitious. Is there any way that they could break this phobia? Their therapist pretty much said they’re on their own with this one.

Title is what I'm after. As I recall it had all the things with 13s numbered in the picture. Googling only got me the actual card.

"Triskaidekaphobia" (TRIS-kye-DEK-a-FOH-bee-a)

The fear or avoidance of the number 13. It is also used to refer to the fear of Friday the 13th.

This Divination Card was born from the fact that the Delirium League, with a theme about fears & madness, launched on the highly superstitious date of Friday 13th. Coincidentally, it also happened to be my birthday, as I am too a Friday 13th child. It was a very nice present from GGG indeed!

The date’s significance has always been interesting to me for several other reasons: both as the perceived events to which people believe is all down to "bad luck" (Apollo 13 suffering its oxygen tank explosion on April 13th for example), but also the lengths people/cultures go to avoid it at all costs.

Delirium was one of my best leagues yet for both progression and enjoyment, and so I wanted to commemorate the very thematic release with my own Divination Card. After a bit of searching, I realised no one has done a Tier 13 Map yet, so I was prepared to settle with that, but then I thought about going further:

If I wanted to continue the theme and fear of the number 13, I had to include as many references to the number as possible to reflect the paranoia-inducing superstition:

• Tier 13 Map
• The card set requires a total of 13 cards to complete.
• The flavour text is 13 words long.
• Map Quality is 13%.
• The Map is corrupted - you can't run away from 13!
• 8 Map Mods (13 Total with 5 Delirium implicits)

But something was missing, and so I asked if it was possible to make the map come with 100% Delirium too, as if 5 random Orbs of Delirium (totalling 13 Map Mods) had already been applied. Delirium was new, and I wasn’t sure this was possible, but it happened - thank you, GGG for making that possible!

I nearly went with making the map unidentified as well, but the reality is that very few players would even touch the map due to the possibility of instantly ripping to reflect; especially hardcore characters.

Hopefully, you all enjoy the card too, and if you manage to complete the set in this league, I hope your map conquer its fear and showers you with loot! :D

It is a Greek phrase and it means "fear of 13", basically it implies a superstitious person. Lol @ the card design, too, with the black cat and the broken mirror, as well as the bloody XIII and the fact the map tier is 13 and of quality 13 and you need 13 cards to complete the set! hahaha!

I am attempting to make a deck which is focussed on killing my opponents using [Triskaidekaphobia]. The idea of the deck is to play with lifetotals of my opponent (or my own and exchange life totals with my opponents) and then hopefully flash in triskaidekaphobia. I do not forsee the deck being competetive (does not have to be) but I do want it to work properly and I want it to be able to function. Does anyone know any cards that would be good additions? Preferably a little bit budget (hence why [vedalken orrery] isn't in the deck (yet)) but any suggestions are welcome

There are only 2-3 Friday the 13ths while SoI is in standard - this week, January 2017, and October 2017 (SoI will still be in Standard come January, but depending on the exact release of the fall 2017 set, it may rotate out by October 13).

Don't pass up the flavor opportunity to run a Triskaidekaphobia deck on Friday the 13th - you may only get one more chance at this, and it won't be until next year!

So I was looking at the card [[Triskaidekaphobia]] and started noticing insane attention to detail; so many set pieces in the art come in 13's. Here's a few that I noticed:

• The utensils hanging in the upper left, there are 13 of them.

• The barrel on the bottom left has 13 studs in the metal bars.

• The fireplace arch has 13 stones.

• There are 13 logs in the fireplace.

• The walls are composed of a total of 13 wooden panels.

• The glass on the floor shattered into 13 pieces.

• The streak of blood running across the wall has 13 sections where it trickles down.

• The ceiling is comprised of 13 wooden panels.

Those are just some of the neat things I noticed in the art. I think WTC and Willian Murai did a fantastic job with this card; it might be my newest favorite card art.

EDIT: There are probably 13 trees outside the window, but I'm too lazy to count.

As per my last email, the guest in room 325 is to be given every possible accommodation, no matter how unusual the request. The only restrictions are providing or facilitating transportation, allowing incoming or outgoing calls, and use of the number thirteen in conversation; don’t do it. Oh, and if you have to book someone on three, keep them as far from 325 as possible. I know it’s weird, but it’s what I’ve been instructed to pass on to the two of you, and if we screw this up we’re all going to need exceptional references.

Additionally, Greg; if you receive a complaint or request, or if the guest leaves his room for any reason, please record the incident and inform Joel of the specific nature of the event. He’ll take it from there.
